Hi 1000, The shimmering you are talking about is somewhat normal. Nvidia did have some problems like you were describing, but apparently fix it driver updates. What version are you using? If you google nvida shimmering you should find lots of info on it, and some solutions. Seems like some rigs are ...

just tried war world, it does support 1280x720. Not sure about other widescreen res's, maybe someone could give it a try. You can get the demo at http://www.warworld.net
Its a fast paced mech game, kinda like ut2004 but with mechs. I thought it was really good, and from a small indie developer.

gotchaforce,
if you edited the doomconfig.cfg file, make sure that you make r_mode to -1 or your new res wont work. If you have done that and your new res still wont work, copy and paste your autoexec.cfg file and we'll make sure its correct.

special k, if your gonna make an autoexec file that you want doom to use, you must put a command at the end of your shortcut to execute it when you start. When you check the console for the r_mode vlaue, it will tell you whats in your doom config file, when you execute your autoexec from the console...

hey crazy fred, i tried your suggestion, but it didnt work for me on the retail version. I never had 1280x720 come up as a res for me. One thing i did notice was after i add the +allvideomodes to my shortcut, the config.ini file in the game folder changed a bit. The videomode line in the config was ...

if you go to your game folder and open swkotor2.ini with notepad then you can change the fullscreen option.
There are two entries for fullscreen, one is for the menus at start, and the other is for gameplay.
Change the 0 to a 1 and away you go.

goto the root folder of the game, and open the file called rend_dxg.ini, you'll see two lines for vertical and horizontal res. Change as desired.

i just got nascar simracing, and it does not support widescreen. There is a config.ini file, but it only has video and one number beside it. 7=1024x 768, and 12=1280x1024. I tried numbers in between, plus using halves, and didnt seem to make a difference.

i would doubt game play would be as smooth. The native res of your monitor is very good, but your rig would have some problems keeping up. Even if you do get it goin at that res, and you find it unplayable, at least you'll know how to change res's with wogg's patcher. Will come in handy later for ot...

if you did not install the patch, then download the cracked exe for the original version. every crack has a version number that matches the patch for the game. If you do get this going, then apply a patch afterwards, then you will need to replace the exe again with the new crack. As far as your brow...

hi gold beater a cracked exe. means you have to download a cracked exe(so it plays without inserting the disk). i usually get them from gamecopyworld.com, after you replace the original exe with the cracked one, then you run woggs patcher. Make sure the version of the exe you download matches the ve...
