GTA:SA cannot do any 16:9 ratios, so using your native res is out of the question.

This is widescreen on the consoles(xbox & xbox 360 at least), so it makes no sense that it wouldn't be on PC

This game does support custom resolutions, but if you use a widescreen resolution, it is stretched. Anyone know how to fix that? Also, does anyone else besides me have framerate problems with this game? I don't know why, but the framerate is horrible. I use a nvidia 6800 Ultra, so I shouldn't have t...

Everytime I try to go into a resolution of 1280x1024 or higher, the game won't boot and says it has to switch back to defaults. The game does have correct ratio though at 16x9, it's not stretch, but I have to play at 1136x664. I want to play at 1720x1000 though, this sucks.

At one point I got it working on a widescreen custom resolution, but I don't remember how, and I think it was stretched though.

[quote]Is there a way to get videos to work with a custom res? Most of the videos encoded for games are in a single format (4:3). Prerendered cutscenes and intro videos (with the exception of Unreal Tournament's) are never rendered in realtime and are therefore stretched to fit the widescreen aspec...

Regardless, if it gives the option to use widescreen resolutions, it shouldn't also use letterbox. That's just dumb. The whole point of letterboxing it to view in 16:9.

Exactly, it ridiculous. I already have it in widescreen. The image gets stretched out because of the letterbox. If it didn't have the letterbox, it would look perfect.

Although the game supports any resolution, for some stupid reason, I get the letterbox effect (black bars on the top and bottom of the screen) even when playing at a 16:9 res. Anybody know how to turn that off?

I experimented with adding custom resolutions through nvidia forceware. The conclusion I came to is the game does support custom resolutions, but only 4:3 or close to it. I tried tons. You will never get something less than a 16:10 ratio. I ended up just going with 1600x1000. Although I have a littl...

How are you adding the multiple switches? They should be outside of the quotes around the path. Example time... ;) (I know that this is about Doom 3, I'm using Quake 3 as an example, the rules hold the same for any switches added to command lines.) If the 'Target:' line in the shortcut tab of the p...

I changed names of the cfg files so they don't have "auto" in front. But I don't know how to implement them into the shortcuts. Also, I can't add multiple switches in the shortcuts, it's not working. That hasn't seemed to work since I installed the 1.2 patch, and now the only way to change custom re...

Is there a way to assign autoexec.cfg files to shortcuts so that they are activated only if I click the shortcut to open DOOM 3? I play DOOM 3 on my 16:9 tv and my 4:3 monitor, so I want the open to change custom resolutions back and forth without having to open that autoexec.cfg file to change them...

Do you have an autoexec.cfg file, If so, what does it say. Because I know you can't make custom resolutions through the doomconfig.cfg file anymore with the 1.2 patch, you have to use the autoexec.cfg file. And if the custom resolution in the autoexec.cfg file is screwed up, it may get stuck at 640x...
