I forgot to enter my location. I'm in Sweden so I would have to order internationally. Somehow I doubt their shipping policies to Sweden are as lenient. However, in my last thread I don't think we managed to come up with a screen from any manufacturer readily available in Sweden, that's comparable t...

Background Continuation of 24" to 27"-ish LCD for Gaming and HD?, I suppose. I'm looking for a 24"-27" LCD for gaming, high-definition movies and all other computer/multimedia needs (I don't have a TV or another computer). This new screen has to be ordered before the end of the year. So it's time to...

[quote]... and 540 watt psu from my old rig... Oh, didn't see that there. Wow, excuse me while I just assume that you are having a really bad day. I actually owned a PC P&C 850 SSI, it was the quietest component in my PC that had a fan. And my computer didn't do hovercraft impressions either. You m...

What effect will wide gamut have on games and movies (note: I won't only be playing BluRays but also MKVs, etc)? How does one make sure the colors are correct in games and in movies (so as to not royally mess up skin tones, etc)?

POWER SUPPLY: You need one don't you? I suggest a PC Power & Cooling PSU. Silent, but they aren't modular though if thats what your looking for. Please, excuse me while I roll my eyes. I'll believe that when I see it listed here. If they're still anything like my PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 850 SS...

That fan is 1600 RPM and is going to be louder than necessary. I would've settled for a 1200 RPM fan. You could probably do the 7V mod on it though (or use a fan controller) so that's fine I guess.

Other than that it's looking good.

If the DS-265W is both cheaper and better, then I guess that's my screen. You're quite right though that waiting and seeing how the first batch is receipted before jumping on the wagon. However, there is not much time as we currently have a monitor deficit: My mom just got a computer and the idea is...

[quote]While the Zalman certainly would work, I wouldn't touch it. 1.does that mean, i should get it, or are you implying that you wouldn't get it? 2. I suppose i'd prefer my pc to be quiet, but it isn't terribly important to me. 3. once again i'm on the go so i'll look at those fans you suggested ...

Man cards like these makes me want to get WC. I couldn't stand the noise of a 4870 X2 or a GTX 280, but with water-cooling it could probably be made really quiet. Oh, why am I dreaming. I don't even have a 1920x1200 LCD yet haha.

Well, the very point of the P182 is to give the best balance between unrestricted airflow and case dampening/sound absorption. While the Zalman certainly would work, I wouldn't touch it. For performance, get the Thermalright Ultra Extreme. For silence get the Thermalright HR-01 Plus. For the best va...

Trust me, you will want low low input lag on whatever monitor you buy. This will be your most important requirement.

In that case, would you suggest a TN panel (maybe the BenQ G2400WD?) or would the approximate 1 frame / 16ms delay of the H-IPS panel Planar PX2611W be fast enough?

If you get the P182, pull the stock fans and replace them with some Xigmatek 120mm's run off a fan controller. Quietest fans I've ever used that didn't cost £20 each. (£5.50 per fan for Xigmatek ones... £18 for Noctua ones)Personally, I use Nexus fans (they're the cheapest of the quality quiet f...

If silence is important to you, get the P182. Otherwise get whatever's sexy. Couple it with an Enermax Modu82+ or Pro82+ PSU. I'm not sure about the 425W version, but the 525W and 625W versions should be as quiet as it gets. If you can't get your hands on it, the Corsair 450W is almost as good (or t...

(I revised the entire post.) I'm not sure how important input lag really is, but I do game a lot. I've heard lots of people complain about the input lag of the NEC (when gaming, especially for FPS) so with this big an investment I'd rather not risk it as I'm going to be stuck with it for many years ...

Sorry for the long OP, I guess these are the most important parts: 1. The LCD should be 24" to 30" with 1920x1200 native resolution. 2. Mainly for gaming and HD movie playback (apart from desktop work). 3. It should be responsive (no input lag if possible), because of FPS games. 4. There won't be an...

Note: I know there are other similar threads, but the most recent ones of those have been on much tighter budgets and thus I think a new one is justified. It's time for a new computer and what better time is there to upgrade the screen as well? Since I don't have a TV nor any console at this point, ...

How bad is 'mid-tones' or grey-to-grey? Does it mean I should really avoid the screen, or could the black-to-white or ISO response time be good as well? How is this for gaming etc (compared to say the 2405, 244T, L2335 etc) Why does overvolting the TFT panel make you nervous? It has a five-year warr...
