I'd be interested to see what you come up with. I used to play the first person shooters quite a bit, and have known quite a few mature, strat based clans. However, I do agree that having strategic, team based gameplay can be almost never combined with fast paced, so you'll have to make provisions a...

Cool, time for me to download winamp then. Did try VLC briefly, I don't feel like troubleshooting it.

Thanks Cynagen!

It looks like it's been a long while since this thread was active, but I figured I'd ask whether the server is still up. Since all we have is snow and ice in Michigan, this sounded kinda fun to try. Thanks!

I agree that Racer_S needs to post a pic! I want to see that triplehead goodness.

Hey, Racer_S! I remember when you similarly helped out the STALKER fans with a much needed widescreen fix. Great job, and with 12 pages of "thanks you's" it should be obvious that your work is very much appreciated!

Yeah, the corsair should be safe with most boards. I guess you could get something with higher values if you were planning on doing overclocking, but that's not necessary required. You will more than likely be able to do 3.6 Ghz without pushing the RAM beyond normal specs. At least that's what I hav...

[quote][quote][quote="It should be easy to overclock a bit even with DDR2 800. Just keeping a 1:1 ratio for CPU to RAM, you can bring the proc to 3.6 Ghz with small (if any) voltage increases. At least that's what I've been told... sweet, my current plan is to get it to 3ghz a core then leave it. a...

[quote]I have a very similar setup and I think you'll be happy. My Asus P5Q pro works great, although it's kind of picky with memory. I have the matched pairs of 2G Corsair memory and they work great, although this board does accept RAM with higher speeds, PC 1200 I think. Just don't forget to chec...

Hmmm....I must be one of the few people who's been happy with their Creative products. I currently have a X-Fi Extreme Music running just fine on my new Vista 64 build. No problems with the drivers, just took the most recent ones from their site. I also have owned a few of their MP3 players (Zen Vis...

I'm jealous of the deal you got on the quad there! I should be getting the same motherboard (PQ5 Pro) and GPU (ASUS 4850) as you, granted that you didn't change what you mentioned before. I decided to go with some Corsair DDR2 800 as I wasn't expecting to do major overclocking. Have fun and let me k...

I love my Dell 2007WFP, and I'm sure you will too, unless you really want something bigger. Does anyone know why Dell ever switched panel types? I remember they had just cleared up the gradient issues, and reviews pretty favorable, and then they swapped to S-PVA (for no good reason that I can think ...

in case you missed it, patch v. 1.0003 is out. Just make sure you get the right one for your system. If you're upgrading from version 1.0001 then you CAN still use your saved games. Oh, and the FOV aspect is now fixed for 1680 x 1050! Wohoo! The patch addresses the following changes: * Added some te...

Well, thought I'd let you know that the blood decals look much better now that you made those adjustments. Thanks for the quick response! However, I'm disappointed to say that my graphics still don't look quite like yours....perhaps we could trade computers? Just curious, but what mods do you...

Well now that things have slowed down a bit for the summer I finally have time to actually do stuff I enjoy. So yeah, here are the pics that I promised. It's definitely something that's noticeable around the bar area, I'll have to check if it shows up anywhere else.

Paddy, dunno if this is specifically due to your mod or not, but recently noticed some weird glitching where blood is left on a map. The blood spatters themselves look fine but they appear within a gray box so you're unable to see the normal background beneath. It's almost like one of the layers has...

Lol, yes those are fun parts. Going into the bloodsucker infested village in the dead of night (with darker nights mod) truly is creepy even when you know what to expect. Anyway, I'd love to see some more good high-res shots of the game with all the effects on--I'm stuck with static lighting :(

Yeah, copying the folder worked out fine. Kind of a "duh, why didn't I think of that" situation, however I prefer having the 2 separate groupings. Easier to test out some of the many mods now available. Waiting on the next patch too...

Um, so this may be a silly question, but does anyone know how to do a double install of STALKER? I've been playing with some of the mods but I can't use them with Multiplayer, which I still enjoy from time to time. Throwing in the DVD only allows me to start the game, and I'd rather not have to fuss...
