Take from an interview at Shacknews: Shack: Are you going to have widescreen support in 2142? Kristoffer Bergqvist: We're not going to give widescreen users a higher [field of view], because that would be unfair for the other people without widescreen monitors, so the FOV will be the same. Shack: Bu...

Just been reading an interview about battlefield 2142, and quote the following: We have learned that we need to communicate much more with the community and address the items they have issues with. This organization is built up around the 2142 project and is going to be prepared and ready when we la...

I really like the style of it, and love the games / cards / monitors section, that makes a lot of sense particularly for new people wanting info. It feels right. I dont understand however the graphics card bit; ON the main page you say helpful if your video card has Aspect Scaling for non native gam...

Not so sure about the dual-widescreen playability (although well done for doing it anyway!), however my system plays Oblivion nicely at 1680 x 1050 I'd even argue that 20fps is fine for Oblivion, but the more the merrier. I have view distance, far off lands & trees etc set to 100% and HDR on, but lo...

Battlefield 2142 really interests me as a game, but i think that for widescreen gamers everywhere it'll be be really important that it does support w/s. I am reasonably tech literate (although i dont work in the business i am known at my work as 'the computer guy') and have been able to problem solv...

Still try the benchmark thing if you have the time, but a quick fix could be to run it at 1280 x 800 or similar.
Make sure of course that you have such as resolution available in your graphics drivers list of available resolutions... (caught me out before)

The game looks nice on my TFT but does play a bit jerky? Why is that? My settings are Medium to low. It looks like your system is basically prety good (even though the 6800XT is a budget version, it's still basically a good card). I reckon that you are either a) trying to play at too high a resolut...

MSIC, you can always delete your last post in a thread as long as noone posts after you like I did now. If you want to delete your post just press the X to the right of your post.

Will do, but i thought i'd leave it for other people to see in case they faced a similar problem.

Ignore previous post, i just fixed it. Basically, i had left AA in nvidia settings set at "8x" rather than application controlled, and in BF2 I only ever have 2x, so it just clearly overloaded frame buffer (or some such part). Try it! It's kinda fun....in a crappy upsetting way. (PS my graphics card...

Changing the command line to the "+szx 1680 +szy 1050" solution no longer works for me, although it worked fine until: a) I upgraded the patch to 1.21 and b) I upgraded my nVidia drivers to 84.21 I now get a very wierd 4:3 picture moved onto the left hand side, a bar of prvious details on the right ...

I assume, since you refer to COD2, that if you check your nVidia settings that you have 848 x 480 as an option? To be clear, i am talking about when you right click on windows desktop and go through propertires -> settings etc, rather than in the game itself.

You wont have any joy i am afraid. Am a big D2 player myself, and the problem is it isnt a 3d game in the true sense, instead it has (from what i remember of my old computing days - i may be wrong) 'sprites' in isomentric 3d, in other words they are a fixed size and the computer cannot interpret the...

One issue that i found recently, trying to get games to work at a particular resolution, is that you can add a particular resolution to nVidia drivers (and presumably ATI ones too) to tell it to work at a particular resolution. My 6800 automatically detected and worked at 1680 x 1050, but I told it ...

Well, I got it working at 1680x1050 just editing the config file. I was originally trying for 1280x800 because I figured my system probably wouldn't play too nice with the maximum resolution. But I guess my computer's got problems, this isn't the first time a game has refused to run at a widescreen...
