What emulators did you attempt? I use epsxe160 and it's flawless bar some quarky sounds sometimes. You just need the right filters. I'm playing from the original discs not iso, could that be the problem?

You might want to reconsider purchasing an additional card to do physics, espeically when you see this: Physx Demo

I think the double gpu is a better option... at least then when you're playing a game that doesn't support a physics processor you can run sli/crossfire. Looking at the list of supported and upcoming games at the Ageis site didn't look altogether promising... besides GRAW and UT2007, nothing stands ...

Thanks guys. I will try a few of your suggestions. As for graphics card, i have just bought a 7800 GT anyway.


Why? Did they suddenly drop the price? The 7900GT was at the same pricepoint last time I checked and is greatly superior to the 7800GT.

Can I ask why you chose the x2 4400+? I'm building a new rig now, I was going to go dual core with an Opteron 170 (and try to clock it as FX 60 hehe)... but the site I was shopping on sold out while I was shopping... the x2 4400 seemed like the next logical replacement, but then I concerned how much...
