I have a 7800GTX and I game at 1920x1200, maintaining good framerates with only a couple exceptions (F.E.A.R., namely). Your 8800 should do fine, and you'll be delighted - gaming at this resolution is noticeably different. |

I've a bundle of FPSs that I've played to death, and the ones I come back to on the merit of the fun of their gameplay (as opposed to the storyline or experiencing the new environment, for example) are Halo, Painkiller, and Alien v. Predator II. I think most games have at least an upgrade or two, so... |

I use a thumball mouse for gaming - no pad for me, no tired arms, etc. Not for everyone though. |

I game on an Apple Cinema HD (23"), but I think this is techincally a 'monitor' as opposed to a 'tv'. The resolution you mentioned is the same. For the record, it rocks. |

I'm glad they included a single-player campaign. I'm not much into multiplayer myself, and I really wanted to see a good game using this engine. |

Do the submarines move faster this time? I think Aquanox is a pretty game, and fun too, but the slowness always drove me nuts. |

I have regular and 64-bit XP on different drives - no problems during boot. I don't actually see a noticeable improvement in framerate when games are run on the x64 partition (namely because they're still 32-bit programs). |

I loved it! (I also loved Doom3 and Quake4.) I've preordered it already to get the art book. |

Home sweet home. This is the 'entertainment center' in the living room (VCR, cassette tape player, record player, etc. all come out here). That's a Zalman Reserator on the side with my own modifications. The sunset image as the desktop is the view off the back porch to my right. |

Nice find! I have the distance from the monitor set for playing games (where I can comfortably see the entire screen without 'looking' around. This is too far away for reading text well, but I use Opera, which has a super nice zoom function that I adjust to make the text as comfortable as I like for... |

I run this game at 1920x1200 and it's absolutely amazing. Note: I find that sometimes if I change the resolution in-game, the HUD gets cut off. Restarting the game after making the resolution/aspect change fixes it.
I'll post a screenie - show me a good host. |
