Hi everyone! I figured this would be a good place to restart! I was a pretty active member back when widescreen monitors weren't common place. Life got busy and poor and without eyefinity, I didn't have much to say. I'm returning to learn more about this ultra wide monitor revolution. My 10 year old... |

There are a lot of pro's to multi-monitor gaming. However, there are plenty to a single screen as well. Less heat/cost with one screen and driving them (count the users of crossfire/sli on this forum!) Not to mention update, update, update! Widescreen is native in todays world. Multi is not always. ... |

If you can go to an apple store and sit in front of a 30" monitor, they are huge, and in my opinion worth the price. My only concern with refurbs is dead pixels. They are not as bad as times past, but under the refurbished badge it might be bad...it might be great...its worth looking up their policy... |

given your budget, why not run a cheaper IPS setup? Like the dell monitors? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Displays/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=dhs&sku=320-8277 Grab them on sale, I've seen them dip decently lower. I will let someone else comment who is running triples, but tha... |

[quote]Hard to say your Dell will use a ton of electricity if its limited in wattage. Yeah sure ^^ that only works with people who have no knowledge about electricity or Computer PSU's. i have a 1500W PSU in my computer. It comes down to trust for me. I trust Gabe more than EA. Therefore if this was the agreement to Origin (which I won't use) then I would not accept it. |

The strength in AMD's new chips are based on their ability to run many threads at once, but their IPC is lower than that of the intels. Which is why intels run better in games. AMD's catch up on photoshop and some other items, but haven't out-benched their older phenom brothers. |

It takes alot from a system to drive 5700x1080.
Dell outfits low wattage PSU's to:
1) keep cost low
2) keep it green. Hard to say your Dell will use a ton of electricity if its limited in wattage. |

I got to admit, I am not impressed by Kepler. Not very 'revolutionary' in my opinion. but that is just my opinion...lots of love for the 6 series over on hard. Frankly I am more impressed with the 79x0 series, they run alot cooler and have huge overclocking potential, and with price drops, 7950's ar... |

Small comment from me; most games will detect a GPU change and either run at a lower setting, same setting or ask you to reconfigure. |

I remember reading an article of a technology analyst demanding that Google and Apple denounce themselves as technology companies because of the massive horrids of cash not dedicated to RMD. It is interesting the world we are living in. Microsoft's windows 7 is distantly similar to the Apple OS. The... |

lots of people wanted steam to make it so you could do this. There are work arounds with gifts, but not 'purchased' items. Frankly I wouldn't mind selling some of them for a few bucks. I think it would be good if steam did it and made it so your steam wallet got bigger rather than having people cash... |

I think it was shortly after launch people were complaining about ME3's ending...or rather, non-ending. On forums Bioware dropped hints that EA had forced them to write another ending in order to sell DLC. This is when fuel really got added to the fire! I really enjoyed ME3, I thought it was very we... |

Shadow, if you are comfortable taking the heatsinks off. I find reapplying Thermal paste does wonders, most manufactures use the 'pad' approach instead of thermal paste. Temps dropped on my 8800 by about 10C. Then I Oc'ed it...but that is another story. |
