I imagined it would work on 5900, since 7900 is the only card that has problem. The 7900 cards has 2 dvi port and no analog port. I actually tried using a dvi-to-analog converter thing to try using the monitor in analog mode. Although there isn't any out of range error with this setting, I cannot di...

I had tried changing the advance timing to display 1680x1050 at 60Hz, and also fix the refresh rate at 60Hz in dxdiag, but they did not solve the problem. I think it is a video card driver problem, since people mentioned it worked on older nvidia video cards, and also on ATI Radeon's cards. Unfortun...

It is a common problem this monitor has with 7900 video card (if you have something other than 79xx, then you are fine). If you select anything other than "Monitor Scaling" in the nvidia control panel, the monitor will give an error saying "Out of Range". This mean any 4:3 game can only be played st...

Is there any solution for people with VX2025wm monitor and 7900 video card? Those out of range errors really suck. I really hope there's some software that can trick the monitor, like what pingspike described in the other post, without depending on the driver. As far as I know, powerstrip still uses...

No one mentioned Outrun 2006? Personally, I enjoy racing game in exotic location, so it is kind of sad that NFS moved away from that area starting from Underground (not that the newer NFS are not good). Colin's tracks and even Flatout's tracks aren't really exotic enough for me, as most of them are ...

Yes, I did check the the information the LCD gave me and it was indeed at 1680x1050.

This easier solution could be hardware dependent though, as someone else at http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/6317 also mentioned the target box solution didn't work for him.

Doesn't the game has some black & white videos that get played from time to time between level switch? I think those videos are stretched on widescreen... but I can't be sure as I don't have the game installed now.

Ok, I know this is an old post, so sorry for bringing it up. Just want to say that Heroes of the Pacific actually uses SecuRom v7 instead of starforce. I have the game and there's none of those lengthy starforce disc check at startup. There are even no-dvd cracks for this game, and GameCopyWorld lis...

The solution for FIFA 06 also works (for me anyway). Just put resolution=1680x1050x32 to the target box of the start menu shortcut. It is much easier.

But the same problem as the hex edit method, no fov change, so the image is stretched.
