I wasn't really thinking about the flange, more like the wood it's attached to.

Even though I'm having a blast playing through it, FF XIII is guilty of this. The entire battle system can be summarized like this "Push X to win".

That monitor stand you've made for yourself is pretty boss. One thing I'm wondering about is the amount of stress you are putting on that mount that attaches to the desk, it seems like the leverage the weight of the monitors would have is pretty big; and if there is any less extreme angled joints fo...

I have the demo, though I haven't had a chance to fire it up because of all the testing. Will need to see if I can find a benchmark run that is easily repeatable. It's not much of a benchmark but the short opening cutscene for the demo might count a little bit. At the default settings it managed to ...

Wow, that's much better. I couldn't help feeling like the whole demo felt like vert- to me when I was playing it.

Heh. Already has these screen shots taken for a post I made on the Global Agenda forums, specifically to mock their argument about not implementing Eyefinity / Proper widescreen support due to unfairness. I don't have 4:3 shots because I was comparing 16:10 to 10:16, and since then I've uninstalled...

This is an issue that is not just limited to Portal. The crosshair is also borked in Half Life 2. There is no known fix for Portal.

PS - Gamecopyworld has a trainer that removes time limit and map restraints. Not sure if the map limiter actually work, but i was able to play the demo for about and hour.

Well I guess I know what I'm doing all day tomorrow.

Well, I've put the drive in just fine. I was afraid that there wouldn't be enough room but in fact there was more than enough room. I'm not sure if this is because the floppy bay in the P180 is also supposed to use the rail system that the 5.25 bays use or not; but after I taped on a folded over pie...

What really makes me sad is that devs probably know that these DRM measures will push people away from PC games and toward consoles. What makes me even more sad than that is that the more I think about it, the more it seems that is their intention.

Wasn't there an Nvidia driver update a while ago that increased the FPS in Protoype (or maybe it was Mirror's Edge) by 90% or something like that? Even after the grain of salt that is a hefty FPS bump.

I'm pretty sure that's just what happens when you set the FOV too high. Just keep trying incrementally lower values until it flips back over.

Of course that said, the percentage of DRM-aware buyers would be higher in the Eyefinity demographic because of the obvious tech knowledge. This. Most eyefinity users are enthusiasts, and most enthusiasts care about DRM. Everybody else doesn't mind being pushed to the console version of the game by...

The best in terms of space to drives I've found are these: http://www.noiseblocker.de/en/produkt_entkoppler_nb-xswing.php Each pair fits 2 3.5 drives in 1 5.25 bay so 6 drives for 3 bays. Trouble with these is no built-in fan and trouble to find somewhere to purchase them, I got lucky and found a s...

Um... from the picture your bay fits four. The three I linked to fit five... extra drive in same amount of space... Quite right you are, chap. I didn't look closely enough. Since it is another 100 bucks or so, that little device is going to have to wait though. Without the fan it's also a bit large...

The only thing different about those bay converters from the one I already have is that they are hot swappable. I don't really mind pulling out the unit to replace drives. I'll post results once the new drives come in.

I'm just throwing this out there, but when I hear that somebody has a Q6600 and doesn't do video encoding; I immediately think they wont be needing a CPU upgrade. Although I'm not familiar with ATi cards so maybe that card of yours will get bottlenecked by the Q6600. And if you are felling sluggish ...

There is two reasons I don't use one of those things that takes up 4 bays. 1) I wouldn't have room for an optical drive. 2) In the P180 the bottom 5.25 bay is separated from the top three. But I am using one in the top three bays: Trust me when I say I have exhausted all other spaces for hard drives...

Well there is one reason to not hook up your console to the internet, I guess. Even though mine is a Slim, it kinda makes me glad I don't have it hooked up.
