Do you believe that they are obligated to invest in providing an enhanced gaming experience to an unusual, nonstandard configuration that probably constitutes less than 1% of their customer base and that the game is not advertised as supporting? No I don't think they are OBLIGATED. But I do think t...

and yet you still wont comment on why other major games do it right? what about Quake wars or HL2 id and Valve did it right and pretty much defined the FPS dont you think they would know this too? Probably because he has no way to put a spin on it (other than to say they are all wrong(-rediculous!)...

[quote]I have noticed that occasionally the shaders/textures take a split second to load-in on an object after the game has loaded ...I have read that this is a feature of the Unreal3 engine, "streaming textures", and is not a bug, one of the benefits being it makes loading times shorter. Cheers Dr...

Maybe this has all got something to do with 'expectations'... I think that because all previous titles (-The Lost) from Irrational were PC only, (System Shock 2 most notably), we were all expecting first and foremost a PC game, and that's clearly not what BioShock is.... its an XBox 360 game. Now if...

Me again, MASSIVE thanks to Racer_S for the DX10 patch it works a treat! Woo hoo! The game looks so much better with the hack it's not even funny! GOOD NEWS! From http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture/home.html And as for widescreen, we also want to say we completely understand a user's desire to augment their FOV. BioShock is a harrowing experience, but we don't want anyone to feel limited (or motion sick!). So we are in the process of working...

[quote][quote]Thanks Yoda!, I couldn't take a screenshot to show people! That's exactly the bug I get when playing the game in DX9 mode with vista. That looks like a driver issue. Are you guys running the Nvidia beta drivers 163.44? They strongly suggested it for Bioshock. yup, got the betas up and...

I take what I said back. I definitely do have the DX9 bug. I just incinerated a splicer and the body looks like a big chocolate bar with no textures. Sigh.

nevermind dude, we're in the same bathysphere... :)

aw, when i try loading it into DX9 mode it doesn't work properly. It's like the textures don't want to load for the interactive objects. Tables and other objects look like they're using old school gouraud shading...i'd take a screenshot if my screenshot key was working... I get EXACTLY the same Err...

GOOD NEWS! This is a quote from Elizabeth over at 2K... you aren't limited in any way to 2 activations. this is not true. you can have the game on 2 computers at the same time, but you can activate it more than 2 times, for sure. if you change your mobo or something, just uninstall and reinstall. if...

Another call for help on getting DX9 working. When I right-click on the shortcut, there's no option for DX9, nor do I see an option in the Compatibility section. I found that if you click START/ALL PROGRAMS/GAMES/GAMES EXPLORER, then right click the icon within the games explorer the link should be...

Interestingly, Bioshock has another issue - whether disc or Steam, it can only be activated twice. Seems even the Steam version has SecuROM protection build in. Man, do 2K Games not trust us, or what? (Google 'bioshock activation' for more links than I care to count...) What if you have to re-insta...
