[ And what? You expected an editor? When it's taken 2k Games three months to release a patch that probably didn't take them more than five minutes to make, you expect them to support a single-player only game with an editor so that "the community" can extend its life? When the people with mon... |

I heard it's nothing to do with the no-cd, i've read on various places people who claim to be using illegal version and still having crashes AND I hear it's happening to Viva Pinata also (which has games for windows live exactly a Gears does).. same error! So it's defintely the G4Wlive BS integratio... |

Crysis should be bought. Crytek needs the financial reward that that POS Bioshock cheated out of customers. It's just not fair that BS gets rewarded by using it's draconian DRM while Crytek go easier on PC gamers and make a MUCH superior/PC centric game and then may loose sales because of the EA sto... |

It is Vert- for sure ... :(
As expected... Did we really think they would sort it out?
Glad you found a work around.
And I guess this will be the same in UT3 based on the demo but they may come to their senses and actually put the FOV options back in. |

Good work - gets my vote! It doesn't adjust the weapon like the Bioshock 'fix' did, but that's not too bad in UT3 as the weapon isn't so hidden to start with (90 vs 75 or whatever). Getting pretty dissapointed with UE3 games now, one thing after another, hopefully Epic will sort this out properly be... |

Yeah, having played gears through 3 times on the 360 I can say all of this could stem from trying to be more 'cinematic'. While I think Gears manages to get away with it (because the camera is following you rather than 'being' you) when it's in a first person shooter it's more than apparent because ... |

Tolyngee > your anger is misdirected. Try the 2k forum or email their CEO to let them know how you feel. The guys around here have done nothing but persist in getting an official fix (so that Xbox 360 owners could be catered for also) instead of us just settling for a rather good 'hack' that already... |

Yeah, apart from competitive games the whole point of this debate is that you can't realistically EVERY give 4:3 and WS users the same horizontal FOV because you are working against the physical aspect ratio of the end display device, in a word, trying to cheat science. They try to bend it (if it is... |

aggies, the problem is 2k stated that they tried 'loads' of different FOV options before 'settling' on the specific one (in WS not 4:3) that they felt artisticaly and immersively enhanced their game in the way they envisioned it. What are the chances of that FOV number being exactly the same as the ... |

Great about the DX fix (for those that can't wait). I still haven't installed the full game but with the DX10 'fix' and the 'promise' of activation removal in the future i may just bite the bullet now and unwrap that sucker. Demo was deleted days ago so i'd like to test the full game in DX10 even if... |

graylantern, I just replied to your post. Thanks for the suggestion. Didn't expect to see Ken show up in their forums. He also comments further back in that thread about the DRM issue some more We actually argued for a different copy protection scheme. We were pushing for another well know approach, but even if it was a bit less intrusive, I'm sure that would have had it's destractors. But it is 2k's call, specifica... |

Yeah well done Paddy on the highlighting of the issue.
