Long time no visit. Good PC games on the horizon = me coming back to moan about stuff :) Well I tried the demo, I actually enjoyed it (suprising considering I'm running on an 8800 gtx + E6850 which is getting long in the tooth. Will be upgraded soon to i7 2600k + new gpu. Anyway, I thought the graph...

Why should wider aspects have a wider FOV? Why can't taller aspects have a taller FOV? a 4:3 display is NOT a 'taller' aspect, man get it already will ya. Just cos a certain SIZED 4:3 monitor may be physically 'taller' than the same SIZED (diagnal) WS display doesn't mean it's got a TALLER aspect F...

I really hope someone makes an FOV fix, but until then how did you manage to change the FOV fuc847? A stretched HUD is a perfectly fine tradeoff for not getting motion sickness. Go into application data... the usual (i'm in a rush so follow one of the links if you don't know where to find it) then ...

well, i kinda hacked it but it still needs alot of work. i used FOV of 110 here, but it only affects what you see, not the weaponview itself. also as you can see the HUD is horribly stretched. zoom also breaks it and u have to set it again,.... i wonder if racerS or dopefish can make a tutorial cuz...

the way i found the values was simply an educated guess.. but there is a pattern with all games, which I've learned from experience. it took longer than usual but I've pinned it down. Given what's just been released, I wonder if you can guess what I'm going to ask (just out of interest, I'm not pla...

Wow.. it's like we all went back in a time warp. Are they seriously retarded over at 2k or something? One of the main causes of uproar about their first (overhyped) game and they go do it again. This time I won't be spending hours on the 2k forum attempting to teach them basic coding. I did that wit...

oh dear god. It's bioshock all over again. I really wish I had the energy to lay into the devs the way I did with 2k and their bioverhypedshocker but I can only bow my head in dismay and hope Paddy and other's like him (and me) keep up the good fight. This is getting beyond a joke. It's one things d...

I went from liking it to being apathetic towards it. Graphically it's merely 'ok' to me. Something about it feels less cohesive and integrated compared to previous UTs even taking into account how the engine now lightmaps static meshes properly (before they stood out like a sore thumb, took ages whe...

Bioshock was awful even disregarding it's horrible widescreen problems, PC at least, it was one of the shoddiest products i've seen in some years for gameplay, bugs and PC centric design. Seriously the mouse doesn't work right, the interface is all wrong for PC the only thing it has going for it is ...

A little off-topic but... Did you like S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? That had a pretty shaky release too, it didn't work on my PC as I have Vista. However, the community were helpful and really pretty decent - even if people were mad that they couldn't get their game to work... I think it says a lot for console ...

When this issue came to light for BioShock, all the game sites I read treated the whole situation with sarcasm and contempt. Only now that 2K have fixed the problem people can see 'what all the fuss was about'. Though I disagree with the above statement that the game is the most immersive in 2007 (...

UT3 Beta Patch changelog: http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?p=2394220&posted=1#post2394220 Under the User Interface changes: Added framerate smoothing and FOV options to the advanced video menu. They do not give any kind of date for release. For now, I suggest the solution mentioned her...

It's still too little, too late. They should have made their engine default to hor + behavior in the first place. That could have removed the need for hacks for Bioshock, Stranglehold, and future games in the first place. Too late? the game's not even released in Aus, NZ or UK yet (tommorow If memo...

FOV Slider only goes to 100.... ! it's fixed but, hmm.. not fixed then. 100.4 for 16:10 and for those who want to play through 16:9 HDTV FOV needs to be higher still (not to mention triple screeners)

HUZZAH! Can anyone confirm if the patch is a solid FOV fix? Or does it reset still? WEll someone on that link I posted (last page of comments) said their 100FOV finally sticks so I'd take it as confirmation, it would be pretty stupid for them to put the adjuster in and not have it stick now I suppp...

Good news guys! UT3 first patch (beta - download at your own risk) http://www.unrealnorth.com/news.php?action=view&id=1470 Fixes masses of things INCLUDING adding a FOV adjuster in the advanced options menu. WOW! Have you guys seen the patch that EPIC have just dropped for UT3? The game is not even out in some countries yet and this patch fixes MORE than what we've waited 3+ months for the Bioshock patch to fix. Widescreen/FOV is said to now be adjustable in the advanced video options menu. Not sure wha...

Excellent! At at last a big review website taking the issue seriously, hopefully this kind of reviewer attitude can go some way to shutting up all the idiots who said Bioshock was 'perfect just as it was' too. (competitive game or not). If all reviewers now take off 1 point for bad widescreen I gues...

The game, if one can allow oneself to enjoy it, is a very entertaining piece of interactive fiction. Its not a highly technical game as far as aiming like bf2. Its not an uber graphics hog like crysis. I think the way the meshed the diaries with the overall ambience and scenery was like nothing i'd...
