AvP is a weekend deal right now, down to 33,5€ from 50€. That's rather strange, the game was among the top 10 best sellers all this time.

I disliked Blade Runner quite a lot... It's a cult movie, I can understand why many people don't like it. When I saw it the first time as a kid, I was quite disappointed with it. I demanded action and the only action I could remember was that scene when Deckard "heroically" shoots the beautiful snak...

This pirate tactic is brilliant in its simplicity. If they cannot play it, they'll make sure no one can play it. They are forcing their problems (being unable to play a pirated copy) unto people who have the ability to play it (good online connections and legal copies). I've just read on another web...

It doesn't look much different from Steam or GfWL. What I don't like is creating yet another online account for playing games. I already have Steam, Impulse, GfWL, EA, Battle.Net and probably a dozen others. It seems in the future you'll need to have an account for every major game publisher. That's...

Just to make it clear, 2nd Encounter is the second part of the first Serious Sam and Serious Sam 2 is something completely different. There are no plans for SS2 remake in immediate future. About game's ending, from what I know, only the graphics gets updated, nothing else will be changed. One reason...

I've heard the wacky gravity effects weren't ported to the new engine yet. This is unfortunately correct. What I heard from guys who did physics system, there are a lot of shortcuts and optimizations that you can do in physics and ragdolls if the gravity is always in one direction only. SamHD is ba...

Do you work for Croteam? Awesome to see developers actively supporting multi-monitor gamers. Correct, I apologize for not introducing myself earlier. My name is Kresimir Kis, I'm one of the guys from game's credits. Most of our team is active on Steam's Sam HD forum so if anyone is having technical...

Some problems reported by TH2G and Eyefinity users are fixed and will be available in the next patch. SamHD starts in your desktop resolution, so it works for tripleheads, but the menu resolution selector had a filter for nonstandard aspect ratios. This filter has been removed so the graphics option...

Valve seems to be quite open minded about selling itself: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=19695 My guess is that no one has offered enough money yet. EA doesn't seem to care about digital distribution and MS is all about Xbox. I have a feeling that MS would rather have Steam sh...

Microsoft can easily change the opinion of PC gaming crowd and even surpass the Steam. All they need is a single exclusive killer game, such as Modern Warfare 3 or Halo 4. If that fails, they can always buy Valve, change Steam EULA, and require Steam users to pay monthly subscriptions. If people ref...

I'm pretty sure it sold poorly on the PC. After all, there is no PC version of Fable 2 and that speaks a lot. I also remember Peter Molyneux saying the PC market is in total "disarray". That speaks even more about Fable success on PC platform.

mikeysg, what about the locking problem when the Screen Width slider from Graphics Options is set to a minimum, does it not happen on your machine? About crossfire problems, we have many reports about our game not liking neither crossfire not SLI but it is a low priority problem because the game run...

Is this lockup happening to everyone with three screens or is it limited to Eyefinity users? I see that ViciousXUSMC and geniv2 are using Eyefinity for gaming and they both get lockups. Paddy and scavvenjahh don't mention any lockups but their signatures show they are using TripleHead2Go. Is the "Sc...

There's a console variable named gfx_fSafeAreaX that is linked with the Screen Width slider (try typing just safearea and hit the Tab key, the game console uses auto completion). Instead of using the slider, type "gfx_fSafeAreaX=0.3333" (without quotation marks) to use the center 33% of the screen's...

For triplehead users, try this. Go to Options > Graphics Options > Screen Width and set it to minimum value. It should move the GUI into the central screen for users with extreme aspect ratios. I haven't tried this with three monitors but it works for single-screen and a very wide window.

Soduka, it's coming. They call it OnLive: The Future of Video Games http://www.onlive.com/ In theory, it allows one to play Crysis at maximum details on a cheap cell phone. Most people agree the technology is still a few years off. Once this thing becomes a reality, the gaming piracy is history beca...

If the game is entirely installed on the hard drive, doesn't require a DVD in the drive, doesn't install any of that SecuROM/Starforce bullshit, then I, for one, welcome this new online-only copy protection overlord.

I've been using Vista for the last year or so, 64bit version on a quad core CPU with 8 GB of RAM. You'll have to put a gun on my head to force me back to WinXP. Rock solid, sleek and fast, those are the only words that can describe my experience. I do agree that people with older hardware should not...

Dopefish, based on your description, I belive what happens is that horizontal FOV becomes greater or equal to 180 degrees. This doesn't work in 3D graphics because at 180 you get near and far plane parallel with frustum sides and angles above that result in something like reversed projection. This p...

TH2G is a hardware solution to triplehead gaming, SoftTH is a software solution. Software solutions are always more general than hardware solutions but you pay the price in performance. It seems foolish to assume that Matrox doesn't want to support widescreen monitor formats, there has to be somethi...
