Having tried 2 x 6850's and getting microstuttering that I could not overlook I doubt I can ever trust crossfire again, sadly. It's just not worth the hassle of buying (and then RMA'ing) a graphics card. |

Hi all, New Eyefinity user here (finally sold my trusty TH2Go a few weeks ago). I'm using a 6850 with two monitors via DVI and the third via the Sapphire Active DP -> DVI cheapie adaptor. Having two problems so far :- 1. I've set the monitor arrangement to be 5040x1050. If my computer puts the monit... |

suiken_2mieu, when you install the drivers how do you choose the 3D mode?
Do you still have to seek out additional drivers like iZ3D or is it something that can be enabled in the ATi CCC alone? |

[quote]I raised the issue some weeks back and Dave Baumann said he was going to speak to the 4800 series guys to find out what the story is (i.e. how they enabled support...) Dave, did you manage to get any further with this problem? Honestly, I ended up more confused by the response than I did pri... |

This may have been answered already, but what's the ETA on when 5040x1050 (or any other Triplehead resolution for that matter) will be supported on the 5700 - 5900 series cards? (Non-Eyefinity of course) IE: Using a Triplehead, MViewtech's Box, or Hell even that awesome Curved monitor that is 2880x... |

My concern is that the pool of people who want this is so small that when it actually happens it'll go unnoticed!
Dave from ATi - please post when this support is in (somebody, anyone!)
When it's support my order for a 5870 is back on! |

Well, I've only ever been on an ATi solution because I was moving from a 4850 to 5870 in any case. At the moment I've gone back to the 4850 and TH2Go. I don't mind so much now, the new hysteria of the 5870 has died a little (I must admit, I was caught in the frenzy somewhat, hence my eager day one p... |

Yep agreed. If we get something it'll not be cheaper than the US version, and likely to be 5 - 10% more expensive (even after adding VAT). |

Presumbaly confidential as when a decent UK supplier becomes a source they will have cornered the (albeit niche) market.
I fear the prices would be too much for me in any case.... (I have an unrealistic maximum price in mind) |

[quote]Thanks for the chance. :P My questions : 1-Any idea about when the 5800 series drivers will support triplehead resolutions, i.e. 5040x1050, so its possible to run a matrox triplehead2go and the new GPUs ? 2-In this solution above (matrox + 5800), will crossfire be supported, as the 4870 that... |

No definitely not.
I should clarify, my 'no definitely not' is in response to the "I don't think Matrox is out the door yet", as opposed to the "anyone interested in me doing a write up on the comparison".
  |

No definitely not. In fact, I'd like to think keeping the TH2Go might allow me to continue to enjoy three screen gaming in the future, whatever the GPU I buy next (nVidia or otherwise) - but this is all in the hands of Matrox and nVidia/ATi to provide continued support. It doesn't seem to be a parti... |

I'd be going with the assumption it's a general hardware problem first.
I guess you probably need to take the Matrox unit out of the equation altogether (i.e. completely disconnect and use one monitor direct to your graphics card) and see if your PC is still locking up. |

Yes - I suspect that a monitor capable of the 57Hz timing is *probably* OK to support 59 too, but it's yet another thing to complicate the issue when working with TH2Go. |

I would certainly want to get some first hand feedback from someone running a 4870 if I were you, but for what it's worth I believe you won't have any problems. I use a 4850 (which can't be that different from a 4870 internally, and driver wise) with 3 x 22" LG screens. The setup with TH2Go was comp... |
