I don't remember having that zoom issue with my Eyefinity setup. I'm not at home right now so I can't check, but I had no problem creating a custom Shepard last night.

Worked great here too, but a little choppy on my 5870 ( >5760x1200, whatever the bezel comp res was). The FOV looked just fine to me, better than most games I've played with Eyefinity. The only issue was the already mentioned non-centered HUD. I just might to upgrade to a 7950 or 7970 for this game.

He means you need an "active adapter" like this one: Sapphire active adapter. The passive ones like this won't work. So what adapter do you have?

My 034 Bizlink/Accel adapter was working ok for a while, then I had a Win7 loading issue and reverted back to a July backup. I started having blanking problems again with the DP adapter monitor in Eyefinity. Not wanting to go back to messing with this issue again, I bought the $27 Sapphire DP single...

I was already running a newer bios for my 5870 (with the higher gpu register 0x18 of 1.175 volts - original bios had that at 1.1625) and from 10.4 it was still blanking. Funny thing since my molex to usb displayport link failure episode. I connect the bizlink's usb to another usb port off of a auxil...

There is another way to get more current. I just wired my own molex to usb adapter. So far, after a couple of hours of testing, it's not having any issues. Cut a USB extension cable and use the female end with a molex connector. It's pretty simple: red to red, black to black, and it's 5 volts. A lit...

The iphone adapter didn't quite do it. I don't know how much amperage it puts out. The label on the thing doesn't state it. I'm not 100% certain but I think it helped, it didn't seem to lose picture as quickly or easily. I'm going to try something else, maybe wire a 5v ac adapter of at least 1.0 amp...

Interesting. This was a solution for some people early on, using a separate ac to usb adapter. But others like myself didn't have the flickering problem until cat 10.4. I've been running cat 10.7 but with CCC from 10.3 to avoid the flickering/monitor going off problem. I have an early Bizlink DP act...

That monoprice adapter looks exactly like this Kanex:

~$67 at monoprice, but $99 at Kanex's own store.

What is your firmware version on the Bizlink adapter? F/W:034 maybe?

I can't tell, checked the back of the unit, and a small sticker on the wire, but I'm not seeing firmware number. It's a fairly early one, I got it last Oct from dell before they ran into some shortages.

@ Hun, You're 100% Correct, the issues appear to be driver related and (for me) anything other than 10.3 drivers---> I lose my 3rd display. I have not even bothered with 10.7 because the rest have not worked. ATI is luck they dont have a class action lawsuit against them yet. I'm seeing this with C...

Try setting 1600x1000 on the 4:3 monitors to see if they support that resolution. The picture will be distorted. But if that works, maybe you can run 4800x1000. That way, the picture on the center monitor, the most important one for gaming, will look right.

Yes, Eyefinity doesn't work on XP. I was one of the few that was still on XP when the 5870 first came out. I had to upgrade to Windows 7.

I've tried a monoprice DP to VGA adapter on the Asus vw266h before. It wouldn't work on my system, couldn't get anything to display. The monitor works fine with the Dell/Bizlink active DP to DVI adapter though.

I'm on Win7 64bit, 5870 with Dell 2707 flanked by a pair of Asus vw266h. So I tried to change the EDID on my Asus monitors to get Bezel compensation, which resulted in only getting blank screen from my display port (active Bizlink adapter to DVI) monitor. Doesn't matter which monitor, just no pictur...

Their issue wasn't that the EDID was different (it's the image size in the EDID that matters, not just different monitors), it was probably that the Control panel in cat 10.3 beta being 5 days older than the latest cat 10.2. So for some, CCC from cat 10.3 beta weren't installed correctly until they ...

*i nearly killed my monitor editing the EDID... soo i wont do that myself again lol* Heh, me too. I really hope ATI remove the restriction in 10.3 release, if not then at least a quick hotfix that removes it. I know I took the risk, but someone out there is going to mess up their monitor and they a...

They do work sometimes, as examples in this thread have shown. But it's pretty much a lucky adapter/resolution/monitor combo thing. And Displayport to VGA adapter aren't passive as there is a chip inside (powered by the displayport) that converts the DP digital signal to VGA analog. Dave talked abou...
