I'll give you a starting point to calibrate it for gaming (through spectraview) and you can go from there if you wish. Its a bit more advanced then just using the presets. :) I finally got around to calibrating tonight...I used all the settings you listed except for one--instead of 32 calibration s... |

If you reformate, the only thing deleted would be your .icc profile. This means that windows might use a generic profile instead of this in color managed programs. Spectraview do the corrections on the screen itself and not in the GFX LUT (it only makes a profile in the .icc file), so basically all... |

is it OK to put a center channel speaker on the top on the 2490WUXi?...I noticed that the LCD has air vents all along the top and sides so I don't know if covering a few of the vents with a speaker would cause any damage to the LCD |

thanks Mesh! also after recalibrating and saving all my settings will it still be saved within the monitor's hardware itself?...I'm a frequent reformater and I like to erase my hard drive and re-install everything often and was wondering if the recalibrated settings will be erased each time I do a r... |

been busy at work and havn't had time to calibrate the LCD yet...will try to get to it this week...this is my first LCD (long time CRT user) and was wondering if it's normal for the boot up screen to display in a different resolution then Windows itself...Windows loads up at my monitor's native reso... |

it should help every colour look more natural. thats the whole point of calibration :) thanks...I was just worried that it was meant mainly for professional photography and wouldn't do much for PC gaming since gaming does not have as much accurate color reproduction anyone ever calibrated their LCD... |

that's the main reason why I bought the NEC 2490WUXi monitor...it's one of the best LCD's out and one of the last of the standard gamut ones...for reasons unknown to me all LCD's are moving to wide gamut even though it does not make things better at all I'm not so certain that wide gamut is even fut... |

a few days back I purchased the NEC 2490WUXi-SV LCD that comes with the calibration sensor and SpectraView software and have a few questions regarding calibration...is calibration necessary if I'm mainly using the display for PC gaming (with a bit of web browsing and Office applications thrown in)? ... |

thanks for the advice...do you have any opinions on wide gamut vs standard gamut displays?...I'm still a bit worried about going with wide gamut as I heard it can oversaturate the look of colors that are mostly designed for sRGB do you have a recommendation as far as easy to use calibration software... |

Hello, first time poster... I'm in the market for an excellent LCD to replace my 10 year old Sony 21" CRT...it's come down to the Dell U2410, HP LP2475W and the NEC LCD2490WUXi for me...and I'm still undecided between the 3 can someone offer me some advice on the best of those 3...I am mostly going ... |
