If the next driver focuses on CF + EF issues, I will consider renaming my first born to 'Radeon'. She's a girl, so it won't be that weird.

Vcore is at 1.27. Yeah, strange it isn't reporting there, first time I've used that utility, so not sure

Has been fine so far, but I still need to crank up the heater in the room today and test it more. It gets fairly stuffy in the room during summer.

[quote]Another question I have is... ...how badly did I shoot myself in the foot by going CrossFire 5870's with an i5 and it's bus limitation of 2*x8? :( Not very badly. 3 or 4% at most performance impact. It's really not until PCI-E 4x that you really see heavy bus limitation happening. TechPowerU...

I put off going THTG for a very long time because of the inherit limitations of such a solution, as attractive as it was. It was a very difficult decision. I jumped in with both feet on EF and have not been disappointed. I understand and accept the early stages of the technology, because I understan...

I am curious how others have the fan set on their 5870's. If I leave it at Auto, the fan runs at about 20% and my chip temp has hit as high as 87* (C) at load. Setting to manual and bumping the fan to 50% drops my at load temp to ~67* (C), but 50% fan on these is fairly noisy and 30% seems to be a s...

I get the same results in Crysis as I do in NFS: Shift if I enable Crossfire. Framerate drops to sub 10. Disable CF and I get about 25-30 FPS with no-AA and everything on High.

Looking forward to the next driver update.

Keep an eye on those 'declined' transactions, I have a couple that are showing as pending charges. Steam said they will be reversing within 5-7 days.

Does egg = firetruck?

will you settle for eggrolls?

Anyway, thanks for the clairification. I personally did not spend any time on HL2 and was shocked to not see CS mentioned by anyone given its massive popularity. Such is life, different strokes.

Does HalfLife 2 = Counter Strike?

Never played HL2 once, but played CS for years and still go back to it from time to time.

Makes sense to me. I purchased two 5870's 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for my download copy of Dirt 2. :|

Appearently, in addition to a shortage of components for the actual boards, bits and bytes are also in short supply these days.

I run it 100%. Haven't had a need to switch to extended (yet). Pretty new install. I doubt I'll need to switch until I jones for some Astroids and need to crank up Mame. That sentence has little to do with my personal habits. :| Also, once I get a VPN client from work that they support under Win7, I...

Oddly enough, the best place I have located is named, http://www.triplemonitorbackgrounds.com/. There is a 'dual' and 'quad' as well. Great site that lets you select your resolution and then choose from many backgrounds at that specific res. Also, being into photography, I know that you can find man...

Can't believe that I had never heard of this game prior to reading this. Took me a long time to figure out if this was a strat game or shooter, or both.

Now all I know is that I want it. :)

Fry's Electronics really loves me this month. :|

[quote]my favorite racing game ever (NFS: Shift) is running very well at 5040x1050 and with latest drivers/hotfix/patch 1.02/EDID workaround. Hi :) What is this EDID workaround that you speak of? Picked up two DVD-D cables today and also received my Accell DP>DVI adapter in from Fed-X. Everything works perfect now. I switched to DVI>VGA adapters/cables and everything is working. I think it may be a DVI cable issue, but will need to run to the store in the morning to verify (need dual link DVI cables).
