sorry to bump and old thread but I am considering picking up another 5970 since the prices are dropping due to the 6xxx cards being released. Im wondering if the scaling has increased any now that we are on ccc10.11 and if i should expect a big enough performance increase to make it viable. most gam...

I doubt this is normal. I dunno about WoW, as I stopped playing it a few years ago when Lord of the Rings Online came out. I run LotRO @ 5040x1050 DX11 all Settings maxed out, which really looks good and definitely better than WoW (and more demanding, too). And I get 60-80fps outdoors in the wild a...

You shouldn't feel like you wasted your money. You have a good machine which can run games at max in a standard resolution. You have to keep in mind that at eyefinity resolutions there is ALOT more screen to fill which requires alot of graphics memory. You have 2 5850s so that's only 2gigs. That fil...

i found this out as well with the mulitsampling. i set mine to x4 and it works well. the view distance is one of the biggest factors in framerates in wow, i keep mine at high but i get the occasional dip in fps in certain areas... its normal and i think its something that will get better as new driv...

this is directly from Valve games: Valve games The Valve Anti-Cheat system is enabled for servers displaying the Secured shield logo. Using custom skins, sounds or maps and playing multi-player mods which do not modify core .EXE and .DLL files will not result in a VAC ban Cheating in a Source Engine...

Also remember that MW2 etc used PunkBuster (which was OK'd quasi-officially) not VAC> So this is a whole new ball game for WSF

Also cheers DopeFish :)

I believe MW2 used vac. World at war used punkbusters

[quote][quote]EDIT: This question was brought up in a different forum, but how does using a fixer like this affect VAC bans in MP? Anyone have any experience with players being banned from MW2 for using the widescreen fixer? I never got VAC'd for using it in MW2 But YMMV. The fixer is a hack, by de...

I should probably note - that new Sapphire adapter that's working so well is standard Displayport. You would need the additional adapter to bring that down to mini-displayport for the 5970.

no worries. my 5970 came with a mini displayport > Displayport. thanks you for the suggestion

Ok so I have an accell ultraav mini displayport to dvi dual link active adapter and I've noticed some flickering (not total blackouts) in the dp adapter monitor and blurry text. After doing some digging I've found that it's definataly the dongle causing it so I called accell today and they informed ...

[quote]I played about 30mins worth when i bought it and hated how *cramped* the screen was so i put it away.I'm pretty sure that's what you meant brew. Yeah I guess cramped would have been a better word. On a single monitor isaac took up most of the left side of the screen so it felt like I only ha...

Ok, I know this game has been out for quite a while now but I must say it is one of the best games I've played in eyefinity thus far. The game has been sitting on my shelf for about a year or more untouched. I played about 30mins worth when i bought it and hated how cluttered the screen was so i put...

Ok I'm not sure if any one else experienced this but after the latest drivers I was only getting 30ish fps in WoW with everything set to high when the day before I was getting 120fps (vsync cap). Long story short I upped my multi sampling from x1 (where it's always been) to x4 and viola 120fps. Also...
