The 960 has a higher pixel limit than the 980? Not that it helps I suppose. Thanks for the comprehensive response - I've been asking this question for years but this is the first time it has been pointed out to me about the DirectX window. Maybe it was obvious for everybody but I never realised this... |

It's been a while since I asked this, and from a rudimentary search I still don't see a solution: is there a screen recording solution (preferably free or at least cheap - I don't do it often enough to fork out a lot for this feature!) that just records my middle screen as a 1080p 16:9 video when I'... |

For completeness (in case anybody else comes looking for this info) I ordered 3x 3m UGREEN DisplayPort cables from Amazon and connected all three of my Dell U2311H displays to one of my GTX980s as described in the NVIDIA surround control panel. Interestingly they wouldn't work at first (machine boot... |

Got an example? I haven't found any so far, but then I don't use my gaming rig for anything other than games. I do notice that when switching between full screen games and my desktop then sometimes it takes a brief moment for the apps to remember that I've got three screens, but they mostly behave t... |

There's an option in the nVIDIA control panel to maximise windows across all displays - uncheck it and your windows will be confined to individual monitors.

I finally got round to building my new rig this weekend, and realised as I unboxed everything that I'd forgotten to order new DP cables. I was about to order some this morning when I started reading worrying things about Dell monitors and DP cables.. I have 3 Dell U2311H screens which are connected ... |

Right, a potential spanner in the works. The game I am spending most time in right now is the Elite:Dangerous beta (yes, it's definitely still beta so things are changing almost daily!) and from reading the Frontier forums there is a myriad different issues being experienced by people with R9 290/29... |

Finally I have replies! Thank you! I wish I had a prize I could award hahaha! I'm kinda happy with my current resolution as these screens are already pretty wide already - I do use them for work as well. The only change I am currently considering is sticking a 21:9 monitor in the middle bu... |

Huh. 850 views and no opinions? Did I post this in the wrong forum? So having done a bit more research it looks like 2x R9 290Xs currently cost less than 1x R9 295X2. Other than needing a motherboard that is Crossfire ready, is there any disadvantage in having two cards vs. one with two GPUs? ... |

I have neglected my gaming rig for a few years but am thinking of refreshing it now that I'm getting my evenings back and can start playing again. I currently still run the rig listed in my sig; a dual GTX580 SLI setup with 3x 1920x1080 screens running a 2D Surround resolution of 5760x1080 before be... |

Woohoo! Patch 1.2 seems to have solved the problem at last! I've got everything back at maximum (including the new character textures), VSync off, and I can maintain 100fps+ all over my ship. Before the patch this would drop as low as 29fps after a hyperspace journey so finally I can play uninterrup... |

Cheers Ryukan! Knocking my shader quality down one level has fixed it for me and I haven't really noticed much of a difference. I don't remember this being a problem in the beta, so they must have done something in a later update. I reported it in-game but they just gave me a standard reply that did... |

Yeah, wait for patch 1.2 lol  I know what you mean about the GTN - doing anything that requires two windows at once (cargo hold, workbench, crafting, etc) requires you to look at the two extreme edges of my 6000 pixel wide desktop! And if a crew mission completes whilst you've got windows ... |

I've been using AMM for a while now as it offers (IMO) a better multiple taskbar experience than either DisplayFusion or Ultramon - I'm a fully paid up user of all three. I've never noticed this option before however, and having just tried it with SWTOR running full screen on my middle monitor, I ca... |

I have this problem when using that version of Chrome (16.0.912.77m) too.
I had AVG Free edition but the issue occurs even after I uninstall it. |

My FPS is buttery smooth all the time, except for when I exit the galaxy map. Alt-tabbing to the desktop and back fixes this but it's the only place I would even notice less than max fps. I should probably just update my drivers as I haven't done so since the end of the beta... |

I bought both an i5 and an i7 when I built my rig with the aim of testing overclockability in the same rig setup. Two other friends did the same thing to average out any batch issues. Ultimately the i7s didn't go as far with HT on, but gave similar results to the i5 with it off. With the games and b... |

I've all but stopped using my mini-map because it's outside of my field of vision. Wearing glasses means I don't even get peripheral vision to 'notice' things out of the corner of my eye! I have the main map assigned to my middle mouse button and I just click it on and off all the time whilst I'm ru... |
