Well, it depends on other settings as well. Do you have AA or HBAO/SSAO enabled? Those can slice your FPS in half.

The problem is that the card isn't released in the market yet. That's why there is so little info on the web. I guess I'll have to google some more about adapters

Looks like I'll be getting two standard 7970s again. I think that's the right way to go for you. Oh, nearly forgot! What adapters should I order with it? Link with choices. Keep in mind that I need DVI to Displayport, not DVI to mini-Displayport. What would you guys recommend? Bump, for I don't wan...

EDIT: I've decided to go with AMD, since Asus just revealed their version of the 7970, which has 4 Displayports! No tearing! Thanks for the feedback anyway, couldn't have done it without you guys.

Just check out the screenshot gallery. If you're experiencing the same thing as in the gallerie, then you obviously did a very poor job researching before you bought the whole stuff.

Am I missing something? Every graphics card I've had always comes with adapters? In fact all of my ATI cards come with a selection of Display port adapters. Why do you need to buy more? Sadly the mini display port adapters I already have wont be of any use but wont the card come with the correct ad...

Are you talking about the HD7970-DC2-3GD5 or the HD7970-DC2T-3GD5? The latter is out-of-the-box-OC'ed. And bear in mind that the cards are 2.5 slots in width. I guess it's a case of waiting until they actually come out. You can PM me some time in the following weeks, because I'm probably getting one...

What would I do? I'd wait for quantity levels of the 7000-series to settle down a bit and for shops to quit price gouging. Really depends upon where the prices settle though and if NVIDIA causes a price war with Kepler later in the year. I fully expect the 7970/7950 to adjust down to 6970/6950 pric...

Okay, okay, I get it. Tearing isn't an issue for me anymore. There. Now talk about the technical aspects. Let's say I'm playing BF3 on max with AA. A 2GB card will hit the VRAM limit. This means getting a 7970 or a 7950 (since tearing is not an issue, remember?). What would you do? Or am I asking th...

There is still NO guarante that you will get Tearing! And even if that small possibility shoul happen, cant' you bring the card back because of insufficent quality of the Product? Well, I've got three DVI/HDMI monitors, so if I pick a regular 7970 I'd have to use adapters, and until now everyone th...

That is a very good explanation! However, I now have the chance to get rid of the tearing completely by buying the Asus. I mean, that's even better right? It doesn't cost a 100+ bucks more, like a 6990, and you get 3GB VRAM. I think I'll regret it if I do not buy the Asus, even if I might never noti...

You are probably right. As long as they are not on my primary monitor, I don't even notice tearing. Currently have 2xdvi and 1xdp and that works just fine. So yes there will be some tearing, but no it won't bother me. You have just dismissed the biggest problem I've encountered in my quest for the ...

Aren't you worried about tearing? I mean, with three displayport displays (according to your Sig) at least one of them will be connected to a DVI/HMDI port via an adapter, and that means you'll get the dreaded line, or also called tearing. Am I right?

Player-x, I'm sorry, but your post doesn't contribute to the thread at all.

Wijkert, my thoughts exactly. I'd go for the OC too. I'm just wondering, are you getting this card as well? It would be nice to share some experiences and maybe write an article for WSGF.

By the way, you've added the 7970 DC2T 3GD5 instead of the 7970 DC2 3GD5. Here's a comparison link (dutch website)

Would you reckon it's worth the 15 bucks? I can overclock graphics cards myself, but there's always a risk that you're going to screw up.

The reason that nobody is talking about that card is that isn't out yet. It will at least take another 2 weeks for it being availible in the Netherlands.
