Looks like the Radeon R9 295x will be 4x mDP + 1x DVI. It's currently rumored to have a $1500 price tag but I'm still excited! :)

Although probably obvious, to be clear the comparison "5x1P" used is 5x 1080p. 5x1P using 1440p monitors would be 18.4 mega pixels. Also 4k can mean 3840x2160 (and usually does) as well as 4096x2160 and I believe even a few others. While largely correct (and kudos for the article) there's ...

Just the regular September 2013 drivers. I'm sure it's because of the MST hub. In the port selection box, I can only select Port 1 (mDP, with the MST hub) and not Port 2 (mDP, single monitor). Which mostly makes sense. Until 4k 120Hz, I don't believe there's a single screen that can fill DP 1.2 band...

Just to add to this, I gave it a try on my Sapphire HD 7950, using an MST Club3D hub. By default it allocates bandwidth for 75Hz even though you can't officially use 75Hz on a resolution over 1280x1024. Because of this, 2x 1440p screens use up 70% of the bandwidth of a single DP port and of course u...

Of course, even if it does work you'll still get tearing if you mix DVI/HDMI (same thing, video wise) & DisplayPort. Plus for my case, reportedly the Dell U2713HM is overclockable to 75Hz which would rule out 3 devices on a single MST hub. As for 3 or more (m)DP ports, we'll have to see what the...

Honestly membership of this community is a reward on its own but if you're throwing games at us I'll not say no. A great selection including some I've already enjoyed and others I'd never heard of. It's a difficult decision but I'll pick SpaceChem - and others won't curse my name because there's ano...

Sapphire 7990 atomic. 6x mDP http://www.computerbase.de/news/2013-07/das-pcb-der-sapphire-radeon-hd-7990-atomic-zeigt-sich/ Oh my god, I want one! How's quadfire? Better question is how's availability. Looks like another vaporware card. News is trickling out about the new R9 200 series cards (relea...

I don't believe it's a problem with mDP -> DP. The signal doesn't change and it would likely affect all monitors at a time. I'd be more inclined to look at the DP -> DVI conversion. AFAIK it goes from a passive signal to an active (timed) signal. For that same reason that nearly all GPUs would only ...

Club3D MST hub - it's here but only 1080p (although I read somewhere it's actually 1200p) - so no joy for 1440p or 1600p. Also, at 150EUR it's not cheap. Personally I also wonder if it adds any lag/latency - I think it technically takes a 4k signal and splits it up which should be very fast but not...
