Well, I've decided to join seeing as i keep getting directed to this site every time I do a search for help on things like 'MW2 eyefinity' and 'active vs. Passive display port adapters'...
I started with true multi monitor back in the day of the Matrox G300, actually It was an earlier version of the card I had first, just can't remember the name of it.. 280? However before that I had managed to get 2 Fire GL cards to do dual monitor as well.
I ended up becoming a HW tester for 3D Studio MAX 2.5/3, thanks to my work and a large Following I had at one time on the usenet 3DS max sections. Got into some, at that time, TOP of the line Evans and Sutherland Tornado and then 3000, dual monitor cards. with a whopping 512 meg on the 3000. At the time the card was worth over $3000, unfortunately after ~5 months of it's release, Nvidia VooDoo and Nvidia both had faster cards, ( direct X ) but their Open GL sucked.
Since then I've used nothing but dual monitors, but finially got to the point where i was curious about the eyefinity.. picked up a 6950 2gig to replace my not so old 5770 1 gig, plugged in the new card and whadda yah know.. it sucked.. but thanks to this site i worked out a few issues and now it works nicely at 5040x1050.
Looking forward to learning and offering up advice where i can..
