I was reading over the FAQ (since I was about to give it as a link to some folks interested in widescreen gaming) when I noticed something funny: there's no definition given for "hor+" and "vert-" and the variations on these terms that describe widescreen implementations.

Could the FAQ be updated to define these terms? That would probably be a big help for people new to widescreen gaming.

Thanks!

There is a better and more clear definition build already, but needs a go from Ibrin before being published. :)

For the moment, this can be used:

This post served as a reminder that the FAQ had grown grossly out of date. I've started working on a new revision here:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/FAQ_v2

Still has some more work needed, but I think it addresses these (and other) issues.

The current (and soon to be previous) FAQ focused a lot on TFT panels themselves - both dealing with misconceptions, and explaining the technology. Over the past three years TFTs have become the standard display type, so I don't think this information is needed. I've tried to focus more on WSGF terms (like Hor+) and concepts. I've also worked to shorten the overall FAQ, and reference more detailed articles where possible.

Feedback/critique very much welcomed.
