I attempted 2560x1600 and the game crashed during launch. If I find a fix I will update.

I have read in another forum this
"into the directory(SCDA-OfflineSystem) and create shortcut to splintercell4.exe
Right click on it and go to properties, under shortcut tab add "-ll" to the target box"

It's not needed?

Sorry to bring this topic back but i did all what was in the discription but it doesnt work!:(

ok so

now i have this

splintercell4.ini :

and a T240HD 24 inch LCD (this is 16:10 right?)

Just an update after reading the review today, there is a way to fix the resolutions in multiplayer mode, well at least this worked for me. Running Vista Ultimate 64 bit:

Go to DirectorySCDA-OnlineSystem

Open Default.ini:

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=1680
WindowedViewportY=1050
FullscreenViewportX=1680
FullscreenViewportY=1050
MenuViewportX=1680
MenuViewportY=1050

That worked just changing that for me, then I went back and edited this part:

[SDLDrv.SDLClient]
WindowedViewportX=1680
WindowedViewportY=1050
FullscreenViewportX=1680
FullscreenViewportY=1050
MenuViewportX=1680
MenuViewportY=1050

Not sure if that second part had any effect, I tested it playing online and everything looks great. Let me know if this helped anyone. Wish people still played this online >_<

Wow, who would've known you could edit FOVs in this, for the sake of interest, is it possible to run surround resolutions on this without it being Vert- during gameplay?

UPDATE: The zoomed sniper is unuseable in triplewide! You just see a stretched large black circle with a red dot in the middle of it, but nothing but black in the circle! Messed me up early in the game where you have to go thru training...will have to switch back and forth I suppose...

I realize this is an old game, but I wanted to play it before I played Conviction.

Followed the above to play single monitor 1680x1050 (center monitor in surround mode)...

Then I thought, hmm, noone mentions if triplewide works...well, it does! Videos and menus are stretched across all three screens, game looks correct though hud items are also stretched, but very playable.

Sorry about that and thanks for the heads-up, looks like something went wrong during the migration of this DR's old data to the new site.

You need to open and edit the SplinterCell4.ini config file. Just make sure the file properties are NOT set to 'Read-Only'. First Right-click the file, go to properties, and look for the file attributes. If the file is marked as 'Read-only', then uncheck it. You Must have full ADMIN rights under Win 7, to do any task.

Open this cfg file with Notepad, and look for the following heading/lines::

[WinDrv.WindowsClient]
WindowedViewportX=
WindowedViewportY=
FullscreenViewportX=1920
FullscreenViewportY=1080

Just enter your desired RES values inside the FullscreenViewportX/Y lines, and save the file. You can again mark it as 'Read-Only'.

There is one more file, which you may need to edit, to alter the FOV values depending on your Monitor's Aspect Ratio (4:3, 16:10, 16:9). The file should be SplinterCell4User.ini. Open this file and change the FOV values as given below, depending on the Aspect ratio:

4:3
[Engine.PlayerController]
DesiredFOV=75.0
DefaultFOV=75.0

16:10
[Engine.PlayerController]
DesiredFOV=85.281271852212
DefaultFOV=85.281271852212


16:9
[Engine.PlayerController]
DesiredFOV=91.315448228736

We'll have a fixed DR up and running eventually, but I hope this helps in the meantime.
