I just purchased Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords today for $20.00, got my game all updated nice and shiny-like to version 1.0b, then found a unprotected crack for it--the one made by Carbon, to be specific--then applied the wonderful tool that is the UNIWS, setting it to patch my game to my monitors native display of 1440 x 900 and proceeded to then take care fo the final step of editing the .ini file where specified.
The game crack worked fine before the patching it with the UNIWS program, but now everytime I click the .exe to run it, the game does not load, instead displaying a notice by Windows that the game has stopped working and will now close.
I have tried manually editing the .exe per the instructions provided in this topic, but even then I still yield the same results from my endevours.
Does anyone have a solution to my dilemnia? I have tried running the game in and out of Windows XP compatibility mode. Does anyone know of a version 1.0b crack that will work with UNIWS or will have to reinstall the game and essentially downgrade to the inital version to enjoy the widescreen experience that is the wonder of this game?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you for your time and consideration.
Edit: The problem has been resolved! :) For any others encountering this problem, the solution to is to replace the Mss32.dll file in the game folder with the one that can downloaded at this link:

Additional Eddit/Question: Okay, I know I'm probably doing something to cause this--most likely being a "duh" issue in its nature, I'm sure--but the option to select 1280 x 960 resolution does not show up when I go into the game, only 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, and 1280 x 1024. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? :? and I am at version 1.0b. Barring that it is an issue with my video card (a Radeon x850 with the latest driver for Vista 32), is there any way for me to be able to select 800x600, 1280 x 1024, or 1280 x768 and use the patched 1440 x 900 resolution instead as opposed to selecting 1280x960?
