Just did 1.12 update, game loads like 2x faster now :D

Also looks like there will be a strong mod community behind this game.

Im about to check out this camera mod: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3966

Lets you zoom in/out, rotate the map and do a first person view.

I installed the demo on Steam and was amazed at how well this game performs on even my modest system which I built in 2006 (2.4Ghz Athlon 64, 2GB ram, Evga 7950GT). It runs very smoothly in 2560x1600 with graphics detail on high, vsync and AA on. I almost never enable vsync when I play games but there was significant shearing without it.

I find this not surprising considering the very low number of polygons ...

I think its great to see a game sold on value and gameplay and not graphics for once, its a change of tides.

Cool, I've been eying up this game. Quite frankly Ive been turned off by the "persistent gore" of Dragon Age and the "extreme gore" promised in the preview I read of Diablo 3. This looks like just a fun RPG and Hor+ seals the deal for me.

Thanks for the report.

I didn't play it so I can't really give any opinion on its gameplay
I was just kind of shocked by the ho so visible polygons in the screenshots
even though I play older games which are probably "worse" visually

I'd take a game like torchlight any day over a dozen 'crysis-like' wannabes for their graphics or whatever.

It's fun, not as bad looking as you make it sound, and best of all, not an over-priced 50+$ pos with more budget in marketing than in making a stable, fun, game.

Yeah nothing to complain about here, its a great game for $20 with phenomenal support.

Just look at some other games like plants vs zombies or peggle. Nobody holds them to a high standard because they were not designed to be competing against other full on pc titles, just a bit of charm a good way to kill time.

Man speaking of that 3x wide plants vs zombies would be cool if you could actually extend the stage for 3x more build area and make the enemies spawn faster or be stronger to make up for the higher defenses :D it would be intense.

Wouldn't taking any of those flash 'tower defense games' and size em to triple wide work? flash usually scales when vector based art is used.
