==Game Information==

Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 is a strategy game from Chris Sawyer and Infogrames. It is the sequel to the hugely popular original RCT, and is not very different from it. As before, there are a large number of scenarios for you to attempt, all of which require you to build, maintain, and/or manage a theme park, with varying conditions and objectives.

==Version==

This information is based on the demo, and may or may not apply to the full game.

==Method==

This game supports widescreen natively. Just select your resolution from the ingame options menu.

==Screen change==

This game is Hor+.

1024x768

1280x800

==Supported resolutions==

I tested this on my desktop, which supports resolutions up to 1280x1024. All tested resolutions worked. But it would not play at 1680x1050 on my laptop. I believe that the game has a max res of 1280x1024.

Confirmed: 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x800
Unconfirmed: 1920x1080, 1920x1200
Failed: 1440x900, 1680x1050

==Singleplayer anomalies==

I have not found any singleplayer anomalies related to using widescreen in the demo. Are there any in the full game?

==Multiplayer support==

RCT2 has no multiplayer mode.

==Aspect ratio support==

The game automatically uses the correct aspect ratio for your resolution. However, the FOV in either directions is proportional to the resolution in either direction. That is, 1280x800 is hor + compared to 1024x768 only because the horizontal resolution is larger. Notice that the 1280x720 shot loses pixels from the bottom compared to the 1280x800 shot.

1280x720

1280x800

==HUD stretch==

This game has more of a functional GUI than a HUD, and it all scales correctly, similar to how Windows does.

==Cut-scenes==

The demo has no cut-scenes aside from the intro logos. I doubt that the full version does either, but won't assume it.

==Grading==

Calculated grade: B-
Potential grade: B+

Major unresolved issues:
None.

Minor unresolved issues:
Are there any single-player anomalies?
Are there any cut-scenes?

Summary of flaws:
Lack of 1440x900 and 1680x1050 support.

Can you select other widescreen resolutions in windows? If the answer is no, you can't use them in games. You have to first make them appear in windows with powerstrip or nvidia drivers.
