An important thing to note is that the game does not support resolutions above 1440x900 and 1280x1024 if a graphic card with less than 512mb is detected.

Do we have a certified game?
This is my first report, so feel free to request/correct/comment anything if necessary. :)

Great DR. Thanks for doing it. It looks like this will be Certified. DiRT was Certified, and using the same engine makes Certification probable.

Looking at my benchmarking suite, 1280x1024 and 1440x900 have about the same number of pixels (1.3M), making a nice plateau in the middle of the res spectrum. Interesting that the game prohibits you from having a bad experience (due to low fps).

If it'll help I can fetch the demo and test 1920x1080 and 1920x1200 what exactly would I need to do?

Try them out. If both work fine, let us know. If either doesn't work fine, let us know.

Alright, I'll let you know when I run it, not my kind of game but what the heck :)

I doubt that my bad experience running at 1280x800 is better than my bad experience running at 1920x1200.

I think it should still be the players decision...

I like the game, but 1280x800 stretched on a 1920x1200 display lets the game look like Need for Speed II^^

'Necessity is the mother of all invention'

Hehe, typical.

I -was- gonna install the demo on my game rig (sig) to try 1920x1080 and 1920x1200.

Guess vista figured it was a good time to forget how to start.

Anywho, I installed it anyways but on my laptop instead. Lil' ol 128mb 8600gt with caching to hdd for extra video ram.

GRID did only detect the 128mb native so 'blocked' me getting to anything higher than 1280x1024.

Since I didn't feel like reinstalling vista tonight I took a few minutes to tinker with the demo's files.

And now I have it, slow, but running at 1920x1080 on 128mb. Slowdown is likely from hdd 'turbocaching'.

Still isolating what I did to set it so, but seems to be simple by editing
GRIDsystemhardware_settings_restrictions.xml
and change the line:

to

wouldn't be surprised if 2560 worked too but I don't have such a screen.

I did mess around with putting 1920x1080 instead of 640x480 in various files but that line is the only that could've added 1680x1050 without me writting it anywhere.

It's still confirming the res. every start, but it works :).

So you got it working at both 1920x1080 an 1920x1200? Where is the demo? I can test at 2560x1600 (when I get some time).

Thanks everyone :)
I'm adding the current grading to the report. Once it gets a new grading, I'll edit again.

About the resolution restriction... the game readme says that there may be graphical corruption when using high resolutions with less than 512mb vram, so do it at your own risk.
