Ok, I'm just playing Far Cry for the first time now. Looks killer on my new WS, with everything cranked. No hardware issues at all - the game runs perfectly.

But...this fooker is hard!!

I'm playing at the 'Challenging' level and it's getting a little annoying. I sometimes have to play a section dozens of times over to get past. Even if I set some parts to 'Easy'. it's anything but...

I can't imagine playing at the highest setting - I'd love to see the person who can. Without reloading each level dozens of times.

So is this game mental or is it just me??

As soon as Trigens appeared, I started sucking at Far Cry.

I was enjoying the outdoors - I didn't want a semi-Doom 3 clone! ;)

Doesn't a game have to come after to be a clone ?

Yeah.

I can't remember. All I can remember is that I played the lab sections of Far Cry and Doom 3 around the same time. (Far Cry brought my PC at the time to its knees, so I didn't play it too much until I got a better setup...)

Yeah, Far Cry was February/March and Doom 3 was August.

Agree'd, the outdoors were the best part of Far Cry - the whole "genetically modified things" ruined it for me, i was quite enjoying shooting real people then they decided to try and make it "scary" and it just ruined it - i hope crysis will stick to something a little more entertaining.
