Although I've had the game since its release, real life, upgrading to Windows 7 and other distractions have kept me from spending any great time with it.

Just as well since codemasters has patched the mess they made with the lack of dedicated servers.

Having had the chance to spend most of the weekend on it, OP2 DR has become one my more favorite games. Playing on Hardcore to take away all the console additions (most annoyingly of which is the HUD for FPS dummies), the game is certainly challenging but fun.

Sure my AI has shot me more than once as well as blindly run into a grenade one of them just threw, but the open feel of the game is something missing in the current releases of the game. I have ARMA2 as well, but OP2:DR just spends more time running.

Even played a few hours online on 'annilhilation' and had a quality game with some great players.

Just thought I'd pass this along in case there are some who held of this purchase because of the controversies around the PC launch of the game.

I thought the demo was good but I don't have the time or the $40 to spend on it right now because of all these holiday releases. I was hoping it would be in the Steam sale, but it wasn't.

Same here. In spite of the 'meh' reviews it seems the game ended up having just enough success to ensure no price drop right after release :(

Thought I'd play the demo again then uninstall. (Argh, these colors for cryin' out loud... had almost forgotten)
I'm convinced the FOV is a tad lower than it "should" : the idle and ironsight views are almost the same, stuff that's supposed to be close to 90 degrees from your crosshair disappears just a bit too quick, and the fix viewpoint while driving feels cramped. I'm well aware Native Hor+ make this a moot point though, just saying. On the up side, this ensures minimal "edge distortion" in surround, but I prefer a wider FOV.

One really odd thing I hadn't noticed before : framerate = game speed :| (Last time I experienced sth like this was in Battle For Middle-Earth 2...)
In OFP2:DR, the game runs in fast-forward when I watch the ground or the sky vs. straight ahead. Resolution or detail settings are not to blame, only vsync can ensure a constant game speed - that is, only if your setup can deliver a constant 60+ fps.
Is this a known issue in the full game as well ? Is there any fix/workaround ?
