So, as of a few hours before the time of this posting, people all over the world have been reporting getting "Error 8001050F" on their PS3, including ones that have never been online. Symptoms include: * Cannot log into PSN * Date is reset to 12/31/1999 * Downloaded games revert to trial mode * Blu-Rays will not play * PS1 games will not play * Trophies are gone * Downloaded themes are corrupt Slim PS3's seem to be immune, but fatties everywhere are malfunctioning. |

Seeing a console gut itself with a sword woudl certainly be worth buying one. I'll be sure to give my PC a big hug when i get home. |

Well there is one reason to not hook up your console to the internet, I guess. Even though mine is a Slim, it kinda makes me glad I don't have it hooked up. |

Just booted up my console. None of the games I have are refusing to play (Downloaded or disk based), though admittedly they're all older games without dynamic trophy support. Can't sign into my account, getting a generic error (along with everyone else). I did a bit of searching and this is allegedly due to a problem with the date/time (first February of an even numbered year without a leap year). I'm guessing this might just be a one day thing. Everything should be fine come march 1st. Not the first time something like this has happened. December 31st of this past year (or two.)
