Anyone seen this?

Download - http://sourceforge.net/projects/morrgraphext/
Info (out of date download) - http://sourceforge.net/projects/morrgraphext/

I got Morrowind up and running last week and spent a little while tinkering with it it to get the MGE (Morrowind Graphics Extender) working.

Wow. That's the only work that describes how good it is. I'll grab some screens tonight, but with the full grass mods, updated textures, and the distant lands addon- the game really does rival Oblivion as far as looks.

Playing through it again, it really adds a whole new dimension playing it without the fog! The land is stunning, and I can't help thinking it's such a shame that people didn't see Morrowind in all it's glory when it was first released!

You can also edit the shaders and add Bloom/HDR support - though I've got an 8800GTX so I've stuck with the full AA/AF instead.

And to bring things back on topic - the extender works independently from the current widescreen fix, but has full support for widescreen resolutions and allows you to set the FOV separately too!

Some nice screen dumps I took:

I last used it years ago and none of that crap worked, basically. If it works now... wow, that's exciting.

That MGE might not work but I came across this last week and people in the thread seemed to have success

Just updated with pics.

I didn't have any trouble installing it at all- once I had the correct version (from SourceForge).

I just installed Morrowind, Tribunal, Bloodmoon and then the latest patch (in that order).

Then I install the MGE (you just unzip it to the Morrowind folder) and ran the configuration wizard. It already has the grass mod inclued, but I did install one of the texture packs just to liven things up.

I didn't feel like adding too much else as I find the more you add with Elder Scrolls games, the more things go wrong!

That looks awesome. Might be time to re-play.

Morrowind is one of my favorite games ever. Such an original world, well-written. Quests could be difficult at times, loved the Easter eggs everywhere. Landscape and sounds were enchanting.

I loved wandering into caves and not knowing if I'd face a rat or a vampire. In Oblivion it was the same case, only my rusty sword would be equally well equipped to deal with either. I still can't believe that Oblivion still gets ranked so highly for what was a POS.

It's pretty amazing what the community comes up with these days in terms of enhancements. I'm enjoying Stalker CS Complete at the moment, it's equally amazing.

Thanks for this info!

I might have to dig up my morrowind games I didn't finish, throw this mod on and try to finish them... Makes it more enjoyable to play for sure.

Definitely worth the effort!

I might write up a short FAQ of getting it up and running quickly (no no-one needs to google and read a load of documentation like I did).

What I really like is the distant blurring, it really helps the depth of field, and it means you don't notice any lack of texture detail on the distant land - Oblivion could have done with this!

I should probably give STALKER another try... I remember it was really hard, and didn't run very well on my old system!
