That is some sweet-looking air domination right there.

Is there a demo? I'd love to try this out.

I don't mean to be rude, but I hate it when Solutions turn to discussions :hide

Nope sir, there's no demo yet. The game looks and feels a lot like Wings of Prey, except you're much closer to the ground... so it doesn't always look quite as nice actually
Pretty fun Tom Clancy's-esque game so far, with lots more action than realism, although avionics feel a bit strange - but I haven't seen enough yet to really know what's in store.

I'll keep an eye out for a demo, because this sounds like just the kind of chopper mayhem I'd like. When I'm old and retired many years from now I might have the time for hardcore sims, but until then 'action' is the name of the game.

No worries on the topic split. In my excitement to reply I failed to note which sub-forum this was in. :o ;)

Oh I'm no sim fan at all, but the helos in Apache:AA seem to need some momentum to move efficiently, and I usually like (virtual) choppers because they move around both effortlessly and with great precision. I'm quickly getting the hang of it, though.

Tracking down lone soldiers in the woods with the FLIR's zoom and thermal vision (instead of taking care of whatever the next mission objective is) is a stupidly satisfying experience... a bit like revisiting Delta Force 1 in a chopper. And trying to survive as long as possible with no tail rotor is just as fun as in DCS-Black Shark :)
I do hope there'll be a demo soon. A Steam release would probably be a total blast, but somehow it doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon... :?

Somehow, I knew you would.
Are you satisfied with Surround/SLI performance ? It blows on my config, but I don't know if the display driver is to blame, or some graphical setting that I set to high. Hell, even the Vert- main menu is sluggish @5040...

lol, the performance is good, cant say its great but i think i get 35 - 50 FPS all maxed (everything) at 5040x1050.
Mmm main menu seems to be fine here, gonna check later at home to be sure.

That's odd. Performance is very much resolution-bound on my side.
Here's what I get in the same free flight mission, all advanced options OFF (all options on, 16x AF 4x AA doesn't make any difference actually)
5220x1050, 5040x1050, 4320x900 : ~30 fps
3840x1024 : ~45 fps
1680x1050 : ~90 fps
The framerate is also very stable at each res. The game does play okay @30 fps (no tearing, controls don't feel less responsive etc.), but I obviously prefer the butter-smooth feel of 60+ fps.
GPU usage is always around 60%, so I tend to believe a proper SLI profile will do the trick...
Maybe it's something to do with my 16x/8x/8x SLI config, but I'd really be surprised if it had that much of an impact :?

The main menu seems to be fine here, what are the issues you have ?
