BTW, the demo seems to support widescreen correctly.

hello. I am having a problem getting the widescreen working in Doom 3 as well.

These are my settings:
seta r_customHeight "800"
seta r_customWidth "1280"
seta r_aspectRatio "2"
seta r_mode "-1"

This is what the screen looks like. However. My native resolution is 1680x1050. Apparantly what is happening is that my horizontal resolution is going to 1280, but the vertical is staying at 1050 and the game is displaying over 800 pixels. Strange. I think someone mentioned that this was the result of incorrect display timings, but unfortunately, i was unable to gather anymore information than that. I dont know how to fix it. So far, my native resolution is the only one widescreen option that gives me a full screen of doom 3, but i can only get about an avg of 12 fps. So that's not gonna work. Anyone have any input?

My computer is a Sager 4750 laptop, AMD athlon 64 3200+, Mobile Radeon 9700 128 meg, 1680x1050 native resolution, gig of ddr400, if that's anyhelp. I am running the most recent (september something or other release) video drivers, but am contemplating trying out the Cat 4.9's. I also have the beta 1.05 patch for Doom3.

The game does the same for me in widescreen mode if my desktop is running at a higher horizontal res than what the game is running at. The easy solution:

Change your desktop res to 1280x800 before running the game. That may not be the solution you were looking for, but it works for me.

Did it work when you changed the Windows resolution?
