Has anyone tried the new Dead Island with Eyefinity?

Does the old fix still work or is the game currently busted?

Yep, I want Eyefinity too

I'm still waiting for it to unlock but afaik:

1) Eyefinity/surround resolutions do work, i.e. you can run the game etc

2) There's already a version of dead island helper for riptide that you can fix the fov for a better widescreen experience : http://steamcommunity.com/app/216250/discussions/0/828937261940292800/

3) The thing that seems to be broken is the HUD. As there are new elements in the HUD I don't think that the old set of fixed HUD files will work, however as the engine is the same, one might use the same technique on the new HUD files. I don't know if that is correct so don't take me at my word.

I'm going to have a go (if I can figure out how the original fix was done).

4) The best way to get this done faster is to moan on the steam forums in:
a- The official issue thread (watched by deep silver people) : http://steamcommunity.com/app/216250/discussions/0/828936719123525994/
b - Create a new threads and complain

I really, really want an eyefinity fix for this game :(

EDIT:

The folder structure is different in riptide. There is no menu folder in
C:\Users\your_user_name\Documents\DeadIsland\out\Data

I can't immediately see how to apply the old fix :(

I signed up just to say I tried it and it is unplayable. I played the first one and it worked well with some tweaks. Riptide is unplayable 1920x1200x3. It also refuses to use more then 50% of one of my two cards. Add that to the fact that I haven't been able to get multiplayer to work and I say stay very very far away from this POS.

This is an adaptation of the menu and hud, for proper display on Widescreen (Eyefinity/Surround).
It is intended for any combination of 3 monitors in Landscape.
:triplewide:

To install is easy.
Come to "..\Documents\Riptide\out\Data\" and we dump file contents inside and this is it.
We can play.

Hello I extracted your files and placed them in the recommended folder but unfortunately the HUD is still massively distorted. Can you tell me if I placed the files in the right place?

I figured it out. The entire menu folder must be placed inside the directory, not the individual files. Which makes a lot of sense in retrospect...

Thanks for your effort, now I can enjoy the game

wtf i feel like an idiot its even says its very easy still no success in fact no visible change from putting the menu folder into the my docs/Riptide/out/Data/ folder so ...
maybe too dumb for eyefin lol

anybody see what im doing wrong ?

Here, the guide for dummies. :doh:

1) find the folder "..\Documents\Riptide\out\Data\"
2) Extract the zip inside, preserving the folder structure.
3) initiating Dead Island Riptide on your Steam.

The file structure should be:

Code:
+Data\
     +menu\
          +hud\
              -HUD.xui
              -hud_skin.xui
          +scr\
              -BackgroundModuleScreen.xui
              -BackgroundModuleSkin.xui
              -Curtain.xui
              -DashboardAgreement.xui
              -etc...*

*The other files are in this folder.

And that's all... It does not work? :nudgenudge:

Hey,

Thanks very much for the patch, it's a lot better. All the menus work great apart from the quests menu.

All the other menus work fine. I'm running at 5760*1200 (3*1920*1200)

Here's a screen shot of what I mean:
