Following the suggestion above, I can play at 1600x1024 fine on my desktop. I still cannot make it work at 1280x768 on my laptop. Seems like the game is using the correct resolution but screen is centered at 1024x768 and cut off at the right side. No matter what I do, I cannot make the game to display full 1280 pixel even though the screen resolution is at 1280 pixel.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've got a question that sounds kind of odd, considering all the effort going into running KOTOR II in Widescreen mode.

I'm doing some temp. testing and last night KOTOR II ran in a windowed mode, and I could watch temps as I played. I made some hardware changes, but now I only get full screen....and can't figure out what was hapening that allowed it to run in a windowed mode.

Any ideas?

if you go to your game folder and open swkotor2.ini with notepad then you can change the fullscreen option.
There are two entries for fullscreen, one is for the menus at start, and the other is for gameplay.
Change the 0 to a 1 and away you go.

Thanks for all the tips but this doesn't appear to work correctly. I've set a custom resolution in the nVidia drivers section of 1600x1024 and have both display option lines in the swkotor2.ini like so

[Display Options]
FullScreen=1
Disable Movies=0
Disable Intro Movies=0
Sort Modules=1
Width=1600
Height=1024
BitsPerPixels=32
RefreshRate=60

[Graphics Options]
Grass=1
Shadows=1
EnableHardwareMouse=1
FullScreen=1
RefreshRate=60
Width=1600
Height=1024
Emitters=1
Anisotropy=8
Frame Buffer=1
Soft Shadows=0
Brightness=57
V-Sync=0
Texture Quality=2
Anti Aliasing=4

but the thing is the game plays in 1600x1200, I didn't notice at first until I watched a DVD and set it to display "Aspect" then came back to Kotor2 and saw that it was sqaured with a black frame. The .ini file still says 1600x1024 but the game plays at 1600x1200. For all the people who think they're playing at 1600x1024 try setting your display to aspect or even looking at what it says the resolution being displayed is in the monitor option.

I think I have it working following UObean's instructions above. I just got my 2005FPW today and all I can say is WOW!

I tried doing this my my Nvidia 6800 + Powerstrip and a Dell 2405.

It *does* work, but I get a thin bar of "green snow" at the bottom of the monitor and the image seems shifted up by 3 mm or so.

I cannot adjust the display (up/down) because I'm using a DVI connection and it greys out that option in the monitor menu bar.

Any idea what's happening here and how I could fix it?

Wogg is back and working on new games for the UniWS patcher. I sent him SW:KOTOR 2 to work on. He is the author of the SW:KOTOR patch. I hear it uses the same engine, so hopefully it won't take long.

PS - I know this is a cross-post, but I'm the Admin. :-) Anyway, there are multiple threads, and different people may be "watching" different ones.
