Also, I've noticed that when using the tactical overhead map (while running in widescreen) the circles representing the player locations sometimes get WAY off course. Here is a screenshot:

Which version of CS1.6 are you using?

What color was George Washington's white horse?

FYI, CS 1.6 only runs on Steam. And it is vert-; using a widescreen resolution just reduces the vertical FOV, and there's no way to increase the overall FOV (the default_fov var has no effect on the visible FOV).

I changed to 4:3 and there were no problems.

It sometimes gets even worse then that. Sometimes you can't even see the map because the players are so far out there.

That is werd I usually watch first person to watch my team. also your graphics look like there on low quality like maybe performance or high performance.

you'd think that the #1 online multiplayer game would have some support for widescreen users whats the point of them even putting widescreen there if it's not truely widescreen plus they let source have that kinda support thinking about posting this up in steam's forums anyone wanna try to change this? I know it's an old game but This is by far my favortite game.

ya, the graphics were on low, not in game though. I turned all the settings in my graphics card to focus on performance instead of quality for another game. Not sure but I from what I've seen it doesn't really make that much of a difference in FPS.

Some games have ways to modify the HUD's and relocate and stretch them and thing like that, is there a way to somehow realign the overhead map so that it's accurate? config file or something.

Oh, also, that one link that has the images of the 4:3 and 16:10 comparison. How did that person get the 'net_graph' to display in the middle, it's always on the right side for me.
