Helifax's trick does require some toggling + not everything is perfect like the loading menu images are being stretched a bit.
But apart from that he has done a great job, the widescreenfixer works brilliantly once it's setup properly and skyrim + 3 screens = epic.
I even lowered Skyrim's FOV to I think 60 (im a fov whore like that,it has to be right) and it's amazing how life like and immersive the game has become.
Draugrs are actually pretty big and scary now :D

Hi all,

I have read the detailed report and a lot of the recent posts here and still have one basic question. What is the difference when playing the game between Hayden's and Helifax's fixes?

I tried Helifax's fix when the game first came out and never got it to work.

I am currently using Hayden's just fine on v1.3 and the skyui mod and am fat dumb and happy. (I have steam set to offline mode and just do not reconnect.)

I am thinking of upgrading to 1.4 and getting the texture pack, framerate increase and such.

But I am worried that I might not like the difference in play with the new fix. Hayden's was a great "click and forget" type fix. I thought I read Helifax's fix needed to be toggled at different points n the game. Is this still the case? and is it a pain in the rear to do?

Thanks for any feedback. And thanks to the authors for finishing the game as Bethsoft should have.

Thanks!

more or less my concerns.

is hayden intending to make his patch 1.4 compatible?

been using it up to the 1.4 patch when it broke, and it's been great.

[quote]Anyone else notice a jump in framerates after moving to 3 monitors?

With one @ 1080 i would get 30-35FPS with a massive amount of mods added. Now @ 3500x1920 i am receiving 50-60FPS throughout the entire game with the same mods loaded :D

BTW thanks Helifax for the fix! Menus in portrait are still a little big but not terrible :D

I believe that the 1.4 Skyrim patch significantly optimized the game.

Oh alright Thanks for the info! Last time I played was at the beginning of 1.3 then my machine was down for a mod and just started playing again when 1.4 was out :D

I just bought this game (yesterday), with the 33% steam rebate, but I was disappointed the game didn't support widescreen well. I bought Deus Ex some times ago and it worked just fine with eyefinity out of the box...

Incredible some big companies like bethesda can still make games without a good eyefinity support.

So now we have to rely on patches and tricks like those ones on this thread... What a shame for those companies...

I hope hayden will make his trick work with 1.4 version of Skyrim... Until then I'll just not play the game, and play other games instead... Hey, even titan quest works fine with Eyefinity ^^

I have a 6016x1080 resolution triple screen system. (Three 1920x1080 screens, with bezel correction)

Oh and btw in the profile, what means 3x1P or 3x1L? ;)

Thanks

Out of curiosity ^_^ Did you tried my fix?:)

3x1P = three multiplied by one Portrait = 3 screens seen as one put in Portrait mode.
3x1L= three multiplied by one Landscape = 3 screens seen as one put in Landscape mode.

No I didn't try it yet ;)
I may be wrong but what I read about your fix worried me a bit...

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but we have to deactivate your fix when we read books or when we do some other things I do not remember? If this is true, this is why I have not tried it yet ;) I want to play the game without worrying to do other things every once in a while before I do something in game, if you see what I mean ;)

This is great news! I can't wait for a new version of your fix HaYDeN. It's definitely needed. Not that the others aren't appreciated, it's just that HaYDeN's is so easy to use. Basically a single click and the game works flawlessly. I'm sure there are a lot of people here waiting for this. I'm looking forward to a weekend full of Skyrim in Surround

Thanks for all your hard work guys!

Most def needed HaYDeN - your patch seems to be the most polished of what we have available.

If you need assistance for future patches, feel free to release your source code so others can continue development :)
