1). The main menu looks great but as soon as you click on options or esc in the game the menus look wiered (some options sag down the screen)
2). The HUD on the left screen is not scaled properly (no biggie for me)
3). When exiting the game, there's an error message that pops up about read/write errors. (It was mentioned before in the widescreen fixer thread but let me know if you would like me to re-post a picture of the error message).
1) I'll look into this. I can't remember if I ran into any issues with the menus, but I didn't really go through all the menus. I mostly just tested in-game.
2) I've done no work on HUD centering or scale. The only thing I've implemented is a FOV adjustment. The HUD scaling issue is an issue with the game engine itself. Once I get the FOV working well enough and other versions of the game working fine then I'll go back and work on HUD issues.
3) I'm aware of this. Some changes I've made recently to the code should have prevent that from happening. It's nothing to worry about. Basically, when the game is running and the fix is enabled, it's constantly writing to memory. When you quit the game, it may exit while WIdescreen Fixer is in the middle of writing to memory. Since the process just suddenly vanished, Widescreen Fixer doesn't know what happened and it crashes. I have a solution locally that just does exception checking.
I know these issues have been mentioned before and other people are proposing fixes for non-steam verisons of the game but any chance you can update us on the status of these fixes and whether or not they will fixed in future releases?
I have plans to. It's just difficult to work on a version that you don't have. The cracked .exe file is completely different in layout than the Steam version, which makes it quite a bit more complicated.
FYI, you don't need to CD to play, just to install.
If the retail version did not require the disc in the drive then why would they have copy-protection and cracks online?
I'll get something going for the cracked versions soon.
