I've found a happy median with Flawless Widescreen & HUD issues. If you take advantage of the hot keys in FW you can run the FOV fine adjustment up to max while in the game to see things like the cellphone menus, sleep times, and most everything else. Once you're done with those screens, adjust it back to suit your taste. It's not a perfect solution, but it only takes a few seconds. It makes the game playable and this is one awesome game...me thinks.

So you are saying if you just run the FOV at full max it lets you see that stuff?
sounds like a fair fix if true, it's what we all did with skyrim for a while..

Also just semi-OT, but what other bugs are people having? i keep hearing of game breaking bugs and mad frame lag etc. etc. Honestly i had the game day 1, and my drivers are (nvidia) 337.81, which are mid-may before the game even dropped, although in the driver info it does say watch dogs profiles and fixes, honestly ive had VERY little issues. No frame skip, game runs as expected for my 670, which is about 55 fps with everything on ultra single screen. and about 35 triple screen on medium with a few select items on high.

I've had a few crashes and graphical glitches here and there. It's just poorly optimised at this stage imo. I have a 780ti superclocked and I still only manage fps in the mid 40's with everything on high, lowest ambient occlusion setting, motion blur off, textures high, SMAA @ 5760x1080. The screen tearing is horrendous for me as well, and of course if I force VSYNC.... hello 30fps.

yeah thats weak, i guess i'm just lucky, cause honestly i think my framerights are right on point, although i am just running fxaa, as i did see some drop with the high end aa, AO on high single screen and low multi, and i really don't get screen tearing either, well not any worse than anythign else anyway, and i think that i generally notice screen tearing more than your average bear (maybe not more than those here with sli and other rigs that are susceptible tho hah, but at least as well). I have a 4gb card and use ultra textures too, again for single screen, on multi i drop them to high.

So as Funkengreuven posted:
You can indeed just edit the FOV with the hotkeys and if you go high enough you can make the cellphone and the game text for sleeping and such viewable. Which is Great! i played for a good 25-30 min before i found another game breaker.
Sniper Rifle! The crosshair doesnt show at all with the FOV fix, now if you go all the way back to stock you can get the sniper zoom view but its a real Pain! So i played @ wide screen for a while just to be screwed again and end up back at single 1080. Bummer. So close!

Yeah I ran into this. It was the final straw for me so I stopped playing until ubisoft fix this mess. I did read somewhere that some people managed to get the scope working if they forced AA to application controlled through your graphics driver control panel but didn't work for me.

I tested this inch by inch and the sniper rifle scope works with the FOV adjustment up to 12.75. Anything higher than that and it breaks the scope. I actually found 12.75 to be a good sweet spot for me. Here are some screenshots of it at 12.75. FYI: My resolution is 2560x1080 so that may change the adjustment numbers on your system.

Doesnt work for me in triple screen, Sli nvidia Surround 5760*1080. Tested from 0 to 20 in fine adjustment.
But a physical fix kind of works. Take super tiny small peace of shewed gum, 0.5 to 1mm only . roll it beetween thumb and index finger.
Aim with sniper weapon (or any other with small reticle, the put that peace om gum on the screen right in the circle.
Use the gum dot as reticle. Works. :D

Done that trick sometimes when playing in hardcore mode without reticles for fast and accurate hip fire

You're right Gumbo. I held the sniper rifle zoomed in and held the FW fine adjustment hotkey and the cross hairs eventually did appear. Only problem was they appeared at -11.5 for me which is zoomed in pretty good. I normally play at +12 or so. I wonder why the difference? Maybe it has something to do with the starting resolution. My res is 5892x1080 bezel corrected. Ah well, I may can get used to it. Thus far, I've played the game without the sniper rifle, but thanks for the tip. I've noticed I have to zoom in some when hacking a camera before the text boxes describing the person you're looking at will appear. Same concept I think. It seems to me this could be easily fixed by Ubi. Maybe this Day 1..er..Day 45 patch coming out will fix it.

Thanks for the Widescreen Fix, without it the game is unplayable.

So then I start playing the game, and the driving controls are HORRIBLE, gave it three hours, then uninstalled, the game looks pretty good, but the controls make it unplayable for me. Going to try Wolfenstein the New Order next...
