Post subject:  RavenShield FOV hack?

Hey, I know Rainbow Six 3: RavenShield natively supports 1680x1050, but I'm afraid it's supported kind of as an afterthought. Instead of expanding your FOV by showing you more off to either side (as CS:Source does), it actually limits your vision by simply cutting off the top and bottom. RavenShield appears to be Unreal-based, so I'm wondering... is there a way to hack the .INI to fix the FOV for widescreen?

Thanks in advance. :)

Nevermind, I figured it out.

Open "RavenShield/Save/Profiles/User.ini"

find this section:

Code:
[Engine.PlayerController]
   bLookUpStairs=False
   bSnapToLevel=False
   bAlwaysMouseLook=True
   bKeyboardLook=True
   DesiredFOV=110.000000
   DefaultFOV=110.000000
   MaxTimeMargin=1.000000
   ngWorldSecret=
   EnemyTurnSpeed=45000
   NetClientMaxTickRate=15.000000

then edit "DesiredFOV" and "DefaultFOV" to something around 110-120. That seems to produce the proper FOV at widescreen res. :)

I think you will find that it doesn't change anything ... :(
I hope it is working though ... if it does please could you show us some screenshots before and after ... :D

This thread might help ... (last post) ... if you find it isn't working after all ... 8)

Mmm, I compared the screenshots and you are correct. There is no difference. I'm gonna try this hack now... :?

Well, unfortunately I have version 1.60 of RavenShield, and this patch only works for version 1.56. I don't suppose there is another way to do this? :(
