Hello guys.

I am new here. I hope, you guys can help me.

I did buy a few days ago the Samsung LE-26R72B. And yesterday the PC Game Pro Evolution Soccer 5. But after I installed it, i had problems with the solution. I can only adjust the solution 1280x720. And it don´t looks realy nice :(

With which Games can i play in the solution 1366x768? Is it possible, to change the solution of PC Games?

Please help!

Kind regards

Hello Peter !

I'm also rather new here and it seems u have the same question that i have. I can see that u bought an HDTV that can be plugged to your pc and not a specific monitor for your computer. I did the same thing by buying my Sony Bravia KLV-V32A10 a month ago. Unfortunately, almost all HDTV's limit their resolution to 1366x768. What i want to explain to you is 2 things:

1) I also have a 17" Samsung LCD Monitor for my pc that has a native resolution of 1280x1024. Yours is a 26" that sports a resolution of 1366x768. Do u see where i'm getting? It's almost the same resolution on a much larger area which means that everything will be bigger (the pixels will be bigger) but it will not be as smooth as playing it on a smaller screen. So when u're playing PES 5 on your HD Samsung in 1280x720, u're playing it at a resolution lower than the resolution of a 17" monitor. And even if you get to play it in 1360x768, u won't get the same quality as a pc monitor with higher resolutions (unfortunately).

2) The weird side of HDTV's: when i was buying my Bravia, i noticed that the 26", 32" and 40" versions all had the same resolution limited to 1366x768 !!!!! Do u know what i mean ?? Can u imagine such a low (rather low) resolution on a 40" monitor. So the problem is that each pixel gets bigger and bigger with the size of the screen, leading to much more aliasing in games, and lack of smoothness of the image especially on transparent textures such as grass, trees, fences...

Now i personally bought the Sony Bravia for the upcoming Playstation 3 and i guess i'll benefit from it greatly, but i'm a bit disappointed that the resolution is limited to 1366x768 for such a steep price.
U should have better image quality in games on your screen than on mine because u have the same resolution than i do on a smaller screen (if u understood everything i already wrote).

Anyway there are actually many games that support widescreen resolutions out of the box, including of course yours (1360x768), such as Oblivion, Half-Life 2, Black and White 2, Age of Empires 3, Dreamfall the Longest Journey, Guild Wars, Tomb Raider Legend, etc... For the ones that don't support this resolution, there's almost always a workaround. Just search the forums and i'm sure u'll find what u need.

I hope this helps.
