Widescreen Gaming Forum

I have the 941bw Samsung Syncmaster 19" Widescreen GTG monitor. I'm currently using Digital DVI ports to connect to my PC (specifications list for what I have) and my video card is well more then capable. I put Condition Zero on 1440x900 (my native resolution) running 75hz and 4ms response rate. in 1440x900 my desktop/text and video look great.. but the blacks in my games look horrible, my friend brought over his 22" model which is basically the same exact thing but bigger and his supports 1440x1050 on Condition Zero and for some reason his text and screen looks great. mine looks cruddy, the blacks are way worse, the lighting is too bright and gritty and the text on my looks all pixely and dissoriented:

my setup :

sharpness : 52%
contrast : 80%
brightness : 85%
magiccolor : off
coarse : 1936
fine : 0


also, does DVI mean digital? because my configuration claims analog and I'm using DVI....
