I've been wanting to do this forever - at least 18 months. I wanted to go through the major PC Gaming mags each month and see what we know about the games they feature. Hopefully, this will spark more interest in getting pro-active information. Please add to the thread with any info you know.

So, here is the October issue of Computer Gaming World:

Radar (Previews):
Kane & Lynch - No known info. Some screens in the article were WS, but that doesn't mean anything.

Frontlines - No known info. Some screens in the article were WS, but that doesn't mean anything.

Rainbow Six: Vegas - Previous "Rainbox Six" titles are mostly native. But, they are almost all Vert -. GRAW is Native and Hor+

Defcon - Native Hor +

Phantasy Star Online - A few folks have played the demo, but it doesn't look promising.

Bioshock - Nothing known yet.

Cover Story:
Team Fortress 2, Portal & HL2 Ep. 2 - Nothing confirmed. But, it is Source engine, so we know it will support it. Virtually all Steam games (even non-Valve) have had native Hor + WS. All previous versions were Native Hor +. So, it's about as promising as it can be.

Viewpoint (Reviews):

Civ IV - Native. Stretch.

Dungeon Siege II: Broken World - Camera Hack needed for Hor + widescreen. We host the hack for download.

CivCity: Rome - This thread shows Vert - and a stretched HUD. .ini style edit needed.

The Ship - Source engine. Probable. Just need confirmation.

Viewpoint (Reality Check):

Bone: The Great Cow Race - Based on the demo - None.

City Life: Native, Vert -

Darkstar One - Nothing known.

Rome: Total War - Alexander - Base game is Hor+ with an .ini tweak

Titan Quest - Native Hor+

WW2 Combat: Iwo Jima - Nothing known.

Ads:
Sid Meier's Railroads! - This thread says widescreen resoltions are supported, but we don't know the effect on the screen. Demo doesn't seem to be available. While history isn't always a good indicator, the Pirates! remake didn't support widescreen.

Caesar IV - Forum search didn't reveal anything. Demo can be found at FileShack

Just Cause - Hack will provide Hor+ support. TH2Go works as well.

Medieval II: Total War - An .ini tweak gave Rome Hor+. And again, history isn't always a good indicator. Demo can be found at FileShack

Timeshift - Ad. Native - stretch.

Stronghold Legends - No known info. First two in the series didn't support widescreen. Demo at FileShack

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic - Demo had native support. The TH2Go support was native as well, and was Hor+

FEAR: Extractin Point - FEAR v1.08 made widescreen native. Should indicate good support

Hero - Nothing on a forum search. Homepage is http://hero.netgame.com

NWN2 - Nothing known. Original NWN supported widescreen native.

MS Flight Sim X - Ad. .ini support. Looks to be Hor+, but may need some more investigation

Archlord - Appears to be a solution here. Beta is free, if someone wants to test it.

Age of Empires III: Warchiefs - Base game is Native Hor+. Expansion should be as well.

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade - Relic broke widescreen in Warhammer 40k, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Mage Knight: Apocalypse - .ini support. Full res + FOV is claimed, but no proof.

Company of Heroes - Native, Hor +

Maelstrom - Forum search reveals nothing. Demo is available at FileShack.

Gothic 3 - TonyM16 claims full Hor+ support to 2560x1600, natively. But, no screens as of yet.[/b]

The Ship has widescreen support, as usual. I might write a detailed report for it this weekend, and Dark Messiah if that one's not already done.
