Hey everyone.

I have a question for you.

I would love to play certain 4:3 games in 16:10 that don't have that capability.

In Windows Media Center, there is a stretch mode that is so perfect...I wish I could use it with everything.

The option in the program looks kind of like this -

It cuts a very little bit off the top and bottom, the image still looks stretched, but the difference between the original image is barely noticeable.

Now the question is,

Is there a program that can...smart stretch your monitors image on any program?

I know it sounds far fetched but these days some crazy shit has surfaced so I wouldn't be totally surprised of something like this did exist.

Thank you so much for your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know of one, but that far from means it doesn't exist. It would have to override nviaida/ATI's settings in your control panel though.

My TV had the mode you refer to... it's called wide-zoom on my TV... cuts some of the top and bottom off to reduce stretching, but still stretches. I don't really use it as I crave image integrity, but I agree it is much better than normal stretch on most things. I actually did use it on some older 4:3 console games a few times.

My old Sony TV had this as well, it was just called "Smart".

The trouble with a program like this on games would be the possibility of cutting off some of the HUD.

If you still had a CRT, then you could just adjust the image so it stretches vertically off the screen :D
