Wrapping up the facts to sort things out before I post a Confirmed Solution... Sorry if it's a *bit* messy atm, and feel free to post any questions/comments.
Hopefully people looking for info on SH5 will find some answers here.

-Resolution support:
All resolutions up to 2560x1600 are supported natively.
You can also edit the [VIDEO] section of My DocumentsSH5datacfgmain.cfg
Minimum resolution is 1024x720, any custom resolution of height<720 or width<1024 will be 'corrected' automatically.
All ARs are supported including 16:10, 15:9, 16:9 and pretty much everything else.

-Two-folded widescreen support:
Free cam (external view) & guns: Vert-
4:3

16:10

16:9

First-person view: Hor+/Vert+
4:3

16:10

16:9

-Stuff that can be modded: (I still have to try a couple things, so I'll post more details later.)
I have no idea how to mod the first-person view. :(
However a couple other FOV values can be edited in Silent 3ditor, so as to make the free cam & gunner view Hor+.
Open C:UbisoftSilent Hunter 5dataLibrarycameras.cam and look for the 'AngularAngle' value under CameraParams at index #19, 183 & 195.

16:9, free cam, AngularAngle = 91

-Multi-monitor gaming is unsupported.
The game will run at any multi-mon res, but the broken first-person view renders the game unplayable.
The Hor+/Vert+ FOV results in increasingly distorted graphics beyond a 16:9 AR. The viewport starts to collapse at ARs > 3:1, and the whole 3D scene turns to solid black at actual Surround resolutions.
2800x900, first-person view

2900x900, first-person view

4320x900, first-person view

The Free cam is just Vert-, though.
4320x900, free cam

Awesome, Thanks.

How has your multi-mon first-person FOV investigation gone? ....... I've only just started looking at the camera file.

Nothing new, I'm afraid. Settings for the first-person camera are not stored there, that's for sure. :(

I built a triple screen rig about a year ago and could not run SH5 at any res except 1920x1080. I read in a lot of threads that larger resolutions were not possible.

But this week, I got a new GTX980 4GB card and installed Windows 7 64 fresh. I installed a bunch of stuff and games. Then I didn't want to have to go through all of the modding again in SH5. So, I went to my Acronis True Image backup and told it to Restore ONLY my SH5 folder. Of course it would not run because I didn't have UPlay installed. So I installed that, and ran SH5 again. And it just launched up into 5760x1080. And I loaded a mission at the same res... :o :o

Has anyone else been able to run 5760x1080? If I try to zoom in/out with the mousewheel in external view it locks up for a few seconds. Also click on the screen to turn your view in the sub locks it up for a few seconds. I was trying to be real careful not to crash it, and only ran it for about 5 minutes like this, then exited. UPlay opens when I launch the game. But in UPlay it want's me to install the game, so it doesn't know it's installed.

I don't know why this is working now... Several things don't work. Clicking on the interface to change depth or speed don't work. Must use the keyboard commands. Interiour walk around doesn't work, but Free view does and I can move around and change my view. But I think it may be just best to use the jump keys to move to periscope and stuff like that, rather than Freelook and moving there.. If this continues to work, I will try and see if there are any mods out there that will make the interface work, add some zoom keys (since mousewheel doesn't work), etc..
