By the way, the Extremetech review does show some decent graphs highlighting (more of what I expected) as the resolution increases and image complexity increases (AA, tesselation, etc...) the added memory plays a more crucial role, albeit small increases...

your not going to see any improvement unless all the memory i getting used up... most of these reviews are 5760 x 1080.. 5760 x 1200 will actually use alot more memory, so that is one thing.. the other is the game itself as games use more and more memory you'll want 2 GB.. and yes it can make a huge diff in some circumstances such as

Infinite % increase in performance!!!

Thanks for the update Lbrin...I hear ya about the day job thing - - they tend to get in the way of my fun, but hey they also pay for my fun

Exactly. As a friend would say, "My job supports my other bad habits." Couldn't quite get it all wrapped up tonight., the rest of real life got in the way as well.

Got all the intro pages written and proofed (wife is a great editor), and all the graphs made. Need to put together screenshots, finalize all my conclusions and then dump it all in the Wiki.

This will be our first multi-page review, and I'm guessing about 20 pages total. We'll have a nav list so you can skip past individual benchmarks that don't interest you. Looking forward to seeing everyone's feedback on it.

So, I received the E6 card yesterday and thought I would verify that the MiniDP-to-DVI dongles were indeed passive. And indeed they are ;) The Dell 30" would only do 1920x1200 and the Apple 30" would only do 1280x800. Picked up another DisplayPort cable to connect the 2nd Dell 30" and picked up a MiniDP-to-DL-DVI adapter from the Apple Store and now everything works as it should.

While trolling MonoPrice, I noticed that they actually sell very inexpensive direct DP-to-MiniDP cables in case you:
a) don't already have DP cables
b) don't want to use the MiniDP-to-DP dongle

They sell them in white, too, if you want to add some contrast to your black cabling.

Didn't have time to put the E6 through the gaming paces, though. Will do that this evening :D

Have you upgraded your card yet? Everything working as you would expect?

I've been having problems with the E6 not detecting my 30" displays correctly. When I go to create an Eyefinity group, for some reason, the displays all sync incorrectly and default to 640x480.

They ONLY sell them in white. I've been looking for black mini displayport --> displayport cables and have only found white ones...no black!

Hopefully I should have one card arriving tomorrow and another early next week.
Not sure if I want to keep the 2nd one but I might have to try CF just because...

My setup will be 3 - U2410's so I won't be able to check the sync issue on the 30's you are having.
