I have just bought a third screen it is an ASUS 23" with the HDMI input. I have tow old 19" lcd displays that connect with VGA to DVI adapters and it was working well as a dual display with eyefinity. I have bought a sapphire active DisplayPort to Single Link DVI Adapter but I cant get all 3 screens to work. Any help would be great.
Cheers

Are you sure it's an Active Adapter?
Does the Adapter work if you unplug the Digital DVI port ?

I bought it from a reputable computer store and it does say that it is active on the box and cable. None of the screens work through it when plugged in. Is it possible to get a VGA working through display port? I do have the adapters on VGA to DVI adapters on both cables.

Yes that is correct but I resolved it by plugging my 24" screen into the adapter and having the 2 VGA's plugged into the card via VGA to DVI adapters. I just have to sort out my resolutions now.
I want my 24" scren 1980x1080 and my flanking 19" screen 1280x1024. Is this possible? I have searched this forum but cant seem to find anything. Can you point me to a thread that can help?
Much appreciated.

I don't think you can adapt a display port signal to VGA if that is what you are trying to do. You will have to get the one with a DVI or HDMI input on the Display Port connection I believe.

uhm what ? You used that DP to DVI adapter and then a DVI-VGA adapter and connected the Old Monitor ?
VGA is a Analog signal! Using a passive DVi-VGA adapter only works with Analog signals! DP to DVI Adapter mostly create a digital Signal.

So i guess that was the Problem here.

But what makes me wonder... normaly AMD GPU's have i DVI-I and one DVI-D I = Analog+Digital D = Digital Only. But you have 2 passive DVI-VGA adapters connected (they're really really short, aren't they?) and both Monitors work.

And to your question about 1920x1080 with two 1280x1024 beside... You can't create an Eyefinity desktop with that- But you can play Games in Windowed mode, or use SoftTH(DX9 games only) to span games!

Ok so here is what I did. I had a HDMI connected to my 1920x1080 and two DVI to VGA adapters connected to my flanking 1280x1024 19" screens.
So what I did was remove the HDMI cable from my 1920x1080 and the connected it with an active DVI to DP adapter. I can play games with it and I can get eyefinty.
I set up hotkeys in ccc to save my 3 main settings.

Thread is now Solved thank you
