read that page...

it seems that the current drivers doesn't support eyefinity to enable 3 monitors.

we have to wait till catalyst 9.10 comes out (WTFudge)

those reviewers that got it working were given beta drivers.

what a sheet load of dung... if I would have known this I would not have paid so much for my card. I could have paid 60$ less (about $345) and just wait for another store to have them in stock

First post.
On the Eyefinity page it says it will only be supported in Vista, Win7, Linux. Not XP.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/eyefinity/Pages/eyefinity.aspx

ATI Eyefinity advanced multiple-display technology supports Duplicated Mode operation (PC desktop cloned on multiple displays) and Extended Mode (PC desktop extended across multiple displays), and offers comprehensive operating system support that includes Windows® 7, Windows Vista®, and Linux4.

WTFudge..

I hooked up the 3 monitors
DVI -> BenQ moniotr
DVI -> BenQ monitor
DP -> Dell 2408FWP (with a DP cable)

I thought they said that in the three setup you could only use one of the DVI...?

Not sure what you guys are doing but ive got my 5870 card setup with a dell 2409 and two crappy AOC 24"dvi monitors.

So, just to confirm, you have three monitors up and running?. How are they connected, two via DVI and one via DP...?

First post.

So could the issues the guys here have been having all be down to them using XP and it does work all along after all just as StAnToN above confirms...?

I am running windows 7 64bit but its working fine for me it was quite easy to set it up.

The driver link i provided is for the new 8.10 drivers i beleive so that eyefinity can work.

Cheers!

Although, I suppose it still comes down to whether you can run that third monitor via a passive DP to DVI converter...?

passive does not work

Does anyone have any thoughts on the VGA one, they do cost a fair bit more than the DP-DVI , in the UK, £6,where as the VGA ones are about £35 ..

Noticed on the manufacturers page Jay posted in the Iracing forums the VGA one seems to be doing a lot more conversion.

Any electronics fellas have any thoughts ?

VGA is analog, so im sure you would lose quality running it with a DP > VGA adaptor.

[quote]btw: I want to test out the input lag the Dell 2408WFPb against my BenQ G2400WD

how would I go about doing this?

Input lag: You set them up in clone mode, put on a large countdown timer that counts in the hundredths of a second realm then take a picture at a very fast shutter speed.
that's the way to go, expect I would use a fast moving object rather than just a countdown. (the object itself does not change position, it just gets across the screen fast)

XP isn't supported.

You also require Catalyst 9.10 to enable 3 screens.

There are some beta drivers out there that folks have working.

My card is DOA due to a fan not working so I can't do more testing.

Hope this helps

btw the requirements are on the box ... addendum 1)

1) Driver version 8.66 (Catalyst 9.10) or above is required to support ATI Eyfinity technology and to enable a third display you require one panel with a DisplayPort connector.
